That's the one! thanks Jormis.
I don't remember all the details but I do remember that the antagonist of this story was markedly very ugly. He had a friend who liked to call him "Bonaparte" He wrote a thesis on how "Crime is Freedom" and his partner in crime made a dirty quip about how the female detective pursuing them "Spreads Like Peanut Butter." He and his friend made a suicide pact and put guns to their heads but in the end "Bonaparte" suspects that his friend's weapon isn't actually loaded so they turn on each other. Ultimately the motive was to prove that his "Thesis" was correct. Any help is greatly appreciated. I wish I had more info, but in all honesty , this film wasn't all that great.
