Going through the index, I found that FanficRecs.Fallout Equestria exists, so I don't think there should be a problem with creating a recommendations page for a fan work as long as it follows the guidelines. Those guidelines are strictly about fan fiction, meaning you probably can't use the page for fan art, fan videos, etc.

Also, I don't know about Rivals, but I'd think that this would only be done if the fan work the fics are based on becomes its own thing distinct from the original work, otherwise you'd be better off using the recommendations page for the base work.

Wait a minute. I'm a little confused because I was the one who sent it to the cutlist. Are Fanfic pages allowed to have Fanfic Rec subpages? That doesn't make sense to me.

I don't know if there's an actual policy concerning this, but as long as the fanfic develops its own distinct canon, I don't see why not.

Let's say a series of Batman fanfics ends with a new completely new character becoming the guardian of Gotham City, while a ton of new villains and supporting characters are created along the way. Lets say it becomes popular enough that fanfics get specifically written about the new character and cast. It would probably make more sense to recommend it to fans of that fanfic, rather than fans of Batman. Same thing with crossover fics that evolve past the source material and that only really appeal to people who read the original fanfic.

I don't really follow fanfic, so I don't know the audience, but it makes sense to me at least.

This particular fanfic has 500 inbounds and is translated into three different languages. I think it is likely to have some fanfiction based on the interpretations of this particular interpretation. Isn't Awkward Zombie a fanfic-esque comic? There could be fanfiction of Awkward Zombie out there...

Oh, OK. That...still doesn't really make sense to me, but I'll just leave it alone.

I think of it as "fan fiction is by its nature recursive, but only popular or well-known fanfics develop large enough fan bases to get recursive." This fanfic is believably at that point.

Fifty Shades fanfic is fanfic of a fanfic with the numbers filed off, so a fanfic can get to that point.
