In the Quest for Glory games a Meep is a creature that looks like a ball of fur with legs and eyes. Perhaps there is a Sierra arcade subgame that features them.

I seem to remember a PC game from when I was little - I think around the days of Windows 2000 or so - called Meeps or something? I don't remember any real specifics - I believe it might have been a get-the-critters-out-of-the-maze type of thing - but one thing that stands out in my mind is the password for one particular level being GIKE.
