So why was it locked?

Only two posts were thumped, and that guy didn't continue discussion onto the final page.

Not really, there are a lot of unpopular opinions threads. The 2ed and 4th posts were thumped earlier also.

Did someone just ask for a lock, and the mods just responded without looking? I'm actually wondering that.

I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.

It was just being trolled by one guy. No reason to lock it.

If you would look at the thread you will see that I am the moderator who locked it and I wrote down my reason for locking it. I didn't feel like sifting through ten pages to discover why the discussion was worth having.

Asking for people to post their unpopular opinions about something and then getting upset about what they post is the equivalent of walking into a bar with a chip on your shoulder and asking someone to knock it off. It is asking for trouble.

Now why couldn't this question be asked in the forum by going to the locked thread and pressing the hollers button on my post in that locked thread?

There's an unpopular opinions thread for nearly every media sub-forum.

Should they all be locked?

^Why? Its not like they get out of control very often.

I don't think the unpopular opinion threads should be locked, but if someone posts something that upsets you remember that you are in an unpopular opinions thread.

I wasn't asking why blackcat locked it. I was asking why blackcat's attention was called for in the first place.

Blackcat is a mod,and when hollored a message is sent to all mods,in this case blackcat was the one who responded.

I'm sorry Old Man Ho Oh, I didn't understand your question. You would be amazed at the things people holler about.

Okay, but why were all the mods hollered? What post specifically hollered them?

blackcat MOD Since: Apr, 2009

One of the posters hollered on their own post because they wanted to find out if it was trolling. I did not respond to the question and did not lock the thread because of that post. I will not tell you who the poster was.

Edit to add: I meant "post" in that first sentence not "thread". Sheesh.
