The TVTropes Trope Finder is where you can come to ask questions like "Do we have this one?" and "What's the trope about...?" Well, some artists just do that. Maybe you could put this under Eccentric Artist, but otherwise - I don't know.

Seconding filing as Eccentric Artist, mostly because it seems Too Rare to Trope beyond being an indication that you're dealing with an Eccentric Artist.
I could maybe see something more general about creative method as characterization ala Tell Me How You Fight - stuff like one writer sitting peacefully under a tree with a notebook and a quill pen vs the one hammering at a typewriter surrounded by Trash of the Titans

Not to be confused for Body Paint, when painting takes a level of extreme. Say an artist has a big canvas, and the artist covers their body in paint, and smash their body across the canvas, making a great art piece!
