I think it might be appropriate for handful of tropes, something like Small Name, Big Ego or Know-Nothing Know-It-All, since the irony of Self Demonstration is so good. Otherwise I don't think so. We talk about tropes HERE, not on Youtube.

I may misremember there being a rule about shameless self-promotion outside the designated forums, but can't confirm this. At any rate, Weblinks Are Not Examples, so the videos may be nice, he needs to carry the points across into the draft in text.

What Amon said. While it may have not been intentional, linking their own YT channel reeks of self-promotion, which is not a kosher thing to do on TLP.
Ok, I don't want to distract from the discussion of the proposal in the comments so maybe sending a message would be best. I also don't want this person to feel like I'm dogpiling them (since i'm already opposing their proposal), so i would greatly appreciate it if someone else would send the message.

being proposed. (full disclosure: I have my own issues with the proposal that are unrelated to my question and have made that explicit in the comments for the draft.) My question is: does the site allow self-promotion outside of explicit forum threads? the sponsor wrote in the comments that they have a youtube channel that discusses the trope they are proposing and then linked it in the comment. is that allowed? disallowed? allowed but frowned upon? Felt weird about it tbh, so i'm asking here.
