Exactly. i mostly like as it is sort of a callback to their earlier, simpler films, which i honestly prefer.
I like Brave, for the exact reason Doug gives: it explores the criminally underused mother-daughter relationship. It is certainly better when you realize that Elenor and Merida are co-protagonists.
But I will agree that there is hardly anything terribly memorable about the movie.
For the Jesu Otaku fans, she now has a website as well.
Coincidence?
Ya know, I wonder when it will happen that every new movie can't be good anymore because they remind you of older movies because every possible idea has been done
It's not always what you say, sometimes it's just how you say it.
Remember! Hyperbole is an exaggeration made for comedic effect, and shouldn't be taken literally!Yeah, but someday you are going to run out of ways to say the same thing.
You underestimate man's insatiable need to create.
Remember! Hyperbole is an exaggeration made for comedic effect, and shouldn't be taken literally! For me, Brave was trying really really hard to be a Miyazaki movie, and it failed at it.
Read my stories!I cracked up laughing when he mentioned Brother Bear.
Demo Reel part one and part two. A few things:
1) "I'm off to be an internet reviewer, they're mentally stable". Hah!
2) Rebecca's rant on actresses and Hollywood is one of the best things I've seen.
3) If she and Tacoma don't get together at some point I'll be seriously surprised.
4). " Don't worry, I'm coming soon, mom." Christ, Doug, don't make me cry again.
5) The two weeks until the next one can't go fast enough.

Time for another Bad Movie Beatdown Christmas Special. Danny Devito + Matthew Broderick = Awful Christmas Movie. It's Deck the Halls http://blip.tv/film-brain/bad-movie-beatdown-christmas-special-deck-the-halls-6485071
Demo Reel on a Monday?? On Christmas Eve too?!
By coincidence, FX ran Deck The Halls today at midnight and reran it again today! It must be a premiere.

Well I'm pretty sure they'll be busy tomorrow?
Busy?? On Christmas?! Humbug!
should i watch the last demo reel before i watch the new one? i haven't gotten around to it yet
Yep. The Donnie parts won't make any sense otherwise.
Well ,i know what i'm gonna today...watch bad movie beatdown, than those demo reels
So... we lookin' at a Misery parody next episode or what?
Groovy.Those were my thoughts exactly.
TBH, I preferred the format of episode 2 of Demo Reel with the Wacky Hijynx happening behind the set. Gave it a 30Rock feel. As it is now, I'm not terrible interested in the ongoing narrative.

Grrrrrrr the place I'm staying at has intermittent network connections so it's frustrating finding time around this and this holiday to do my regular internet activities.
Look at all the adorable people giving holiday greetings. And I really needed Doug's relentless brand of optimism after the year I had, so thank him for that.
Is it bad that I look forward to this all year?
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.
I'd say that Brave is on par with Pixar'd early 2000s work. It's a marked drop from Wall-E, Up, and Toy Story 3, but it's still a really good movie.
