Has it ended yet? I seem to recall that it somehow hasn't. I stopped reading when I realized how old it was with no end in sight.
No, it's still going on. Right on, they are in the middle of an action saga since Hild's previously unseen right hand demoness overthrew her and now the leads are looking to restore the safer status quo.
It's annoying how Belldandy continues abusing her New Powers as the Plot Demands skillset, however.
I have many fond memories of this series. Once upon a time, as a young nerd, I decided to check out this 'anime' stuff my friend kept geeking about. Unfortunately, the site I found back then didn't really have a whole lot of streams that actually worked. So after trying all the series my friend recommended and failing, I became rather frustrated, and started to click all the links in alphabetical order until I found a series that actually worked.
That series was Ah My Goddess, and I loved it.
Dark Horse recently started to reprint the series. I'm taking the chance, and started collecting them. And I still like it, though I do think that the anime handled some sub-plots better.
Even though you won't find me declaring my love for this series from the rooftops, this certainly has a special place in my heart.
I realize this is a very old thread but I just started watching this on Hulu and I am bogging down around episode 7.
I still pick up a new volume whenever Dark Horse churns one out, most likely because I've following it since back when they were huge, flipped and overpriced. Although it really has just been plodding along for some time now.
Anybdy else consider both Banpei and Sigel Scrappies? I think they're worse than Skuld.
Skuld is still my favorite character, although it's annoying how Fujishima seems intended on making her a worsening Scrappy.
Overall, pretty much all the characters have entered a rut where they don't develop but keep on getting more and more Flanderized; Belldandy keeps getting even more perfect, Skuld even brattier, Peorth more one-dimensional, Keiichi more teen hero in adult body, and so on.
I picked up the DH release of volume 37, the one that introduces Chrono.
All I kept thinking was, "seriously did we need this character?"
Anything that helps explained the mythos and culture is a good thing.
Wow, sudden thread revival, huh? Ok
I got volume 40 a couple weeks ago. They were in the Demon realm in an overlong battle with this demon girl who trapped them in the dark. I can't remember if they finished it or not.
So far, this demon world arc doesn't ecite me much. Is it still going on?
I think so, yeah.
I'm not sure even Negima's Magic World arc had it this bad.
Its wrapping up, the things we get in this one make this one of the best arcs in the series. Keiichi's actions, the kiss, the contract made with those words and demon Urd were all great.
Crap, another series is ending? Negima, Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, Air Gear, and now this?!
Oh, or you mean only this arc?

The arc, thou its argued that the series is gearing up for a conclusion given what's happened over the last few years.
I'm surprised that no one here is talking about the latest chapter 285. There was a huge reveal in it that has everyone paying attention to the series for the first time in years. Hell, /a/ on 4chan has been going apeshit over it ever since it came out.
didn't even know 285 was out.

Eh, I already suspected something like this.
This has "Series Finale Coming Up" written all over it.
Oh, cool, chapter 285! Though I haven't read a lot of the previous chapters, I'll just check this one out because it seems like a big deal...
...
I can't believe I didn't see something like this coming...
But more importantly, you were supposed to be my idealistic romance manga, AMG! ;_;
This is being taken the wrong way. First off, we know that Heaven isn't granting wishes because they want to help the worthy. Second, we've know since the Fourth Goddess arc that there was something preventing Belldandy form granting Keiichi's every desire. And lastly it's been hinted a few times that K1's wish should have never been granted.
I think if anything, this last arc has proven that Keiichi isn't normal and has cleared up a bunch of mysteries of the series.
Man, this takes Urd's trolling to whole new levels.
Another AMG OVA is coming next summer: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/interest/2012-11-21/aa-megami-sama-gets-new-original-anime-dvd

I personally liked the first season of the 2006 anime more than the second.
I like to keep my audience riveted.Kind of odd bringing the thread again, but given the most recent chapter...
Has the name of Belldandy's father EVER been brought up before? As far as I remember, it's always been "Almighty" (even in the official translation by Viz). So, excuse me if I express surprise that it's been Tyr all along.

Huh. That was one of those things that was almost better left untouched, as sticking it with capital-g God as they were made him seem both more mysterious and potent
It isn't the fandom sensation it used to be, but I think it deserves more respect and recognition than it gets nowadays, being one of the pillars of the modern Bishoujo genre.
And it's got a new anime special coming!
