I only played the Beat demo for a bit. Wouldn't mind buying it if I had more Wii points. One thing I initially found awkward was using the Wiimote to steer the paddle, but that was before I found out the rotational control was the way Pong used to be played.

The level 4 boss in Fate is ridiculously hard. Still fun though.
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau Projectokay, so are there 3 or six levels in fate then?! I'm really confused.
I though it was just 3: Patience, Frustration and Anger.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyI think there are 3 'themes' split into 2 levels each. I've definitely played 4 levels overall.
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectNormally, a papercraft wouldn't really draw the eye, but look at the screen in the background. Gaijin are FAMOUS for hiding hints to the next game in the background of some random cool photo.
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau Projectgood find, though are we sure that it's not a screen from a current game?
The sad, REAL American dichotomyI've finished the 1st 2 levels of Beat and I bought and started playing the 2nd one. The second one is supposed to be one of the easier ones, but I have trouble keeping track of all the bits coming at the control pad line things.
Taking a break from FE1, for the FE8 draft insteadI think that it's partly cause it's easier to game the system in multiplayer.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyI'm not sure I understand what you mean, but I never played either on multiplayer so...
Taking a break from FE1, for the FE8 draft insteadWith the second one, it's because you could have a partner operate exclusively on an axis or one of the four lines, cutting the amount of work that needs to be done in half. It's the same for Beat, only easier said than done because the paddles get smaller the more you have. It doesn't really work in Void because there's an increased chance for confusion and less places to be during the segments where if you're not in the exact right place you get hit.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyWhat may be the last game of the sextet, Bit.Trip Flux, has been announced on the Bit.Trip facebook page.
"Germany’s rating board has Bit.Trip Flux in their database with Aksys Games listed as the publisher."

The sad, REAL American dichotomyLook familiar? That object on the left is similar to the planet from the first level of Beat.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyI noticed that immediately.
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectUPDATE: I recently spied a copy of EGM with their 2011 games list, and Bit Trip Flux was in it! It looks like it will be in non-side-scrolling 3D. (You're navigating a tunnel of some sort) There were references in the article to Bit Trip Beat and 'coming full circle', and there will be mid-level checkpoints again.
HOLY SHIT, MUSIC:
BTW, Lilt line (Gaijin's first self-published game.)is VERY good, and a steal at only 500 points. It is of course quite hard.

Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectAh. My initial impressions were off. It looks more like Beat, but um... Actually what IS the difference, besides the fact that the paddle is on the other side of the screen? Do you play the beats?

Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau Projectapparently from those who've seen it in action, it's a combination of all the games, or at least the first three. But we'll see more eventually.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyFate is up for some nominations at Nintendo Power. Go vote!

The sad, REAL American dichotomyFlux is the cover story for the EGM digital magazine
There's some pretty interesting info here. There's a twist in the ending will involve triggering an action that isn't immediately obvious.
Apparently, some of the beat patterns are Morse code messages that can be translated! That's mind blowing.

Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau Projectgod damn that's awesome.
The music is from the game. It's a remix of music from earlier games.
Some emphasis added.
There may be more bit trip, and, an unsolicited attack on EA. Still, if only that were aimed at Activision instead.
I'm quite stunned that we don't have more than one page for this game. When I started the threads for X Men Next Dimension and Sonic Battle, they took off.

The sad, REAL American dichotomyWell, we're mostly the only 2 in here.
Someone should go back to older games and see if they can decipher any hidden messages in the beat patterns.
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectOh god, I just noticed that. Damn shame, really.
Hmm. I could see how they might do it visually in BEAT and RUNNER, and rhythmically in CORE and VOID, but I think if it was in earlier games, someone would have said something.
I also don't know morse code. Some codes may actually be in braille, now that I think about it.

The sad, REAL American dichotomyMuuuuusiccccc.
Also, holy shit, are those beats that disappear before hitting your paddle at 0:44?!

So, Fate is now out in America. What do you all think of each game and the series so far?
In order of favorite, I'm at:
I haven't played Fate long enough to place it, though so far it seems to be above void (mainly because Void is the only game in the series in which you can't see what to do anywhere near as far away).
The sad, REAL American dichotomyMy rankings were based on how far I've gotten in each game, how fun I find it's mechanic, and how interesting its concept is.
