Not all Mishimas have devil forms. It's not genetic (well, it partly is, but the genetics start with Kazuya, not Heihachi, and if I recall my lore right, Jinpachi was possessed after he was sealed off.)

Heihachi and his illegit son don't have Devil powers.

Looks like Asagi has made it to story material in Disgaea D2. Also, we have another angel who is also an idol.

Not so much "story material" as "Axel-grade cameo", though new themes are always a plus (and would ironically give her the most vocal themes out of everybody in the series). That being said, isn't Disgaea starting to get a tad oversaturated in idols...?

The bribery perk is certainly better late than never. Now it gives HL some actual valid use once LOC's unlocked and most-everything else is done with. Really liking the expanded training room as well.

I think at this point, even they are starting to realize that the Senate is a pain in the ass, but it's so integrated into the series that they would never dare get rid of it. So they decided to make it slightly easier to manage.

Also, new angel character who breaks the trend of all the angel characters having their outfits be vaguely derived from each other/the Celestial Host design. Not woo. I liked how all the Angels matches in a way. It was a nice orderly contrast to demons coming in all shapes and sizes.

EDIT:Also, I should have commented on this earlier, but I am really not liking the trend of replacing portraits with just close ups of the sprite's head. I think that's dumb.

I have no problems with it. Honestly, it's not a big hassle. You bribe senators when trying to pass stuff like military funds and then they love you forever.

The only time I ever had a problem with them was when I was passing bills for new characters, and by then I had the bribing system and the materials necessary down. Any senator that disagreed got an Adell in the face.

Remember the crossover poll from Mugen Souls? Seems they're doing it again for the new game, but Neptunia has been excluded from voting and crossovers from them are being used to push pre-orders and the limited edition.

Makes sense, since Neptunia swept the top positions last time.

Disgaea 1 was a pain due to the need to get as much of a majority as the cost of the proposal (virtually impossible in some cases), but 2 was fine for me.

It only really started to annoy me in the postgame in 4. "Yay, I unlocked dual-weilding! Oh, wait, no. I unlocked a 1% chance to unlock it. Whee."

If they refuse your bills, you can always beat the ever living shit out of them...

Once you can challenge the highest level Councillors, that does become a possibility, yes.

If the politics system were more detailed and interesting and integrated with the story, I think that the various Dark Assemblies would be kind of awesome, I think. But they're not. They're just an arbitrary barrier that exists for very little in-universe reason. ("And now I, Overlord Laharl, will go before the inexplicable council of demons who are vastly more powerful than me and beg them to let me use this new class I unlocked. No? Rats. There went 4,000 mana.")

Which only ends up becoming ridiculously tedious once one decides to actively pursue modifying items, boosting movement and all those other nice things.

I'm just surprised they only just recently decided to cut the crap and give the player a direct bribery option for this kind of thing now. Cuts the time wasted in the Assemblies and gives HL more of a reason to exist. Now if they could fix party arrangement and not make it another complete chore, that'd be great.

Party arrangement is another reason I can't wait for a PC Disgaea - click-and-drag would make that such a dream.
