I think it might be the French APAV 40 which is a 40mm Dual Purpose Anti-Personnel and Anti-Veicle. The other one the French more commonly use is the AC-57 which is an Anti-Tank grenade. My bet is the APAV 40. While the 22mm Rifle Grenade could be used by most NATO allies the French still have this kick about their own kit in general.

Who watches the watchmen?I thought that was the thing. The French use the 22mm rifle grenade when most other NATO members have moved on to 40mm UBGL's like the AG-36 or M203.
I've never heard of the APAV 40.
The French also use 40mm UBGLs. The rifle grenades are just something of an additional punch, smaller and lighter than a beefy shoulder-fired rocket, larger than a 40mm and available for every rifleman rather than just the one man in the fireteam.
Charlie Stross's cheerful, optimistic predictions for 2017, part one of three. They do? I wasn't aware they could mount UBGLs on the FAMAS.
Oh really when?It can mount a M203, as seen here: http://world.guns.ru/assault/fr/famas-e.html. Also, there is a SMG variant of the FAMAS seen there, but I've never seen it before in any media.
Breaking news - EO Tech, manufacturer of the OTHER fancy American optical sights as found in Battleduty games are in rather deep shit with the American government.

Run n gun with the most valiant bolt-action rifle ever:
That reload time's painful, and so's the round going off into the ulu when he dropped it. No wonder they got rid of that quite quick and went for this -
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M1903_Springfield instead.
Still not as good as the Smelly though.
But mostly because someone over there thought that a 5-round magazine seemed a bit small.
There was actually a stripper clip made for the Krag, although it never saw widespread use. The Norwegians managed handily against the Germans with theirs though.
Schild und Schwert der ParteiI've heard that one reason the US Army selected the Krag over other designs was that you could keep a round in the chamber, ready to fire, while loading the magazine. Which is something you can't do with a Mauser, since the bolt has to be open to expose the internal magazine for loading.
I recently saw an M16/AR15 magazine that was designed to do something similar. It doesn't lock the bolt open after the last shot, it locks open after the next-to-last shot. That is, when it locks open, there's still one round left in the mag. What you're supposed to do then is hit the bolt release, loading the last round into the chamber, then eject the now-empty mag and replace it with a full one. The idea being, you can have a single round ready to fire, even in the middle of a fast reload. Just in case somebody suddenly jumps out at you, or whatever...
Sounds to me like a solution looking for a problem. Not to mention a screw-up waiting to happen for somebody who's been trained with normal mags, since the steps are done in a different order...

This Space Intentionally Left Blank. The Krag is also the reason we went to brass casings as it tended to tear up the early copper ones IIRC.
Who watches the watchmen?
<Russian> Is nothing compared to mighty Mosin-Nagant tovarisch. How many Nazis did that puny gun kill again? Zero? Ha! Mosin kill million plus! </Russian>
<British> Or as they also say old chap, it's performance is markedly inferior to that of the pattern Short Magazine Lee-Enfield used by our lads across the Empire! </British>
<American> Springfield! Hooah! </American>
All those rifles are fuck ugly. And the Krag removed many Nazis in Norway.

Schild und Schwert der ParteiI would like to point out that the bulk of the worst issues were with the American variant of the Krags.
Who watches the watchmen? It Is Now Law: The CMP Can Now Sell 1911s.
Hey Marine! Can I pitch in and you get us some of these?
Nice. While i wouldn't want it for carry it might be interesting for tinkering and shooting.
Who watches the watchmen?I just noticed a gun on the Dr. McNinja web page for his new project Gwenpool.
Which gun does that guy have?◊
I know comic books don't always draw firearms right but it appears to be an FN FAL 50.62/50.63 going by the folding stock and shorter barrel.
Why it has a Call of Duty style wooden handguard is beyond me.

The short wooden forend resembles that of an FALO or the Israeli Romat. The framework stock does suggest a folding paratrooper variant. The curved magazine... beats the heck out of me. And in the 3rd panel, note the round charging handle on the right side of the receiver, which is then absent in the 4th.
I don't think it's meant to be a precise depiction of any specific type of rifle.

Inter arma enim silent legesIt seems to EO Tech fiasco is bigger than we thought.
It may not just be them. I'm pretty sure the US Govt is going round having a severe look at all their optic sights and their suppliers right now. EO Tech may just be the unlucky first party to get stomped on.
Aimpoint just made a ton cash.

The Rio de Janeiro military police seized an AMD-65 (a Hungarian AK) with an interesting appearance. I take the owner is a fan of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive?
I have disagreed with her a lot, but comparing her to republicans and propagandists of dictatorships is really low. - An idiot
