How is it with the content updates in AoCF? I know they said there would be more spellcards for the bosses added with the patches.

Okay, I've just downloaded AoCF from Steam. I'm going to see how playing with a keyboard works out before I start shopping for a controller.

Style change

After downloading the game, I spent a little time in practice mode getting myself used to the basic controls. I probably still have a lot to learn about the fancier moves and whatever restrictions there are on them (and couldn't find anything in-game that explains them), but I got comfortable enough with knowing what buttons do what to start on Story Mode.

I went through Reimu and Kasen's scenario, where I did decently on Normal difficulty. I struggled a bit against Miko and Byakuren, but I pulled through. The final fight of the route against Yukari had a hint pop up that Kasen was immune to her black bullets, which I followed. As I was still not quite used to the controls and Kasen is apparently a Mighty Glacier type, I had some trouble getting into melee range before Yukari switched back to her regular danmaku. But I pulled through in the end.

You can dash through bullets. I assume that would help.

I wonder if Hecatia was being serious or just leading Piece along to get her to explore more of Gensokyo.

If you're going to mention Junko, at least show her as well. She hardly has any presence for a final boss as it is.

It's interesting to hear some stuff about the cyclical nature of Hell when there's already a Former Hell in the lore. Although wasn't there another reason for that? But it has the appearance of adding up, at least.

Ahahaha. Youmu fell asleep midway through the party.

Heh. Yukari's black bullets confused me greatly when I played AOCF. That's the price I pay for not being able to read the warnings, though.

Doesn't Komachi dump people who stiff her on the payment overboard? Indicates that spirits lacking cash is a thing that happens, I suppose.

The two main protagonists hear what could be a scream close to the Hakurei Shrine, shrug, and go back to chatting about their last party. Also, Marisa is short, like just a head taller than the fairies. No wonder she gets along with them.

Oh noooooo.

At worst, it's just a change in the population numbers. Not interesting news in the slightest.

The greatest theory I've heard regarding that is that they're also affected by Sakuya's spatial manipulation that makes the mansion big

"If you make the monsters too violent like that, it actually makes them less scary!". Wow, that is actually a pretty cool insight into the difference between Western and Japanese Horror! The Japanese are masters at subtle, disquieting, atmospheric stuff that scares the hell out of you, like Silent Hill, the Grudge, etc. while often the Western approach is to just throw blood and gore at you by the bucketload, with brutes just chargin' straight at you. Also: "Metal as Hell". This is so perfect, I don't even wanna know at all what it said in the original, dat Clarste-ism is too fitting.

YEEES, finally more Hecatia She's sooo cool. Also, more Worldbuilding, with Hell, and all that. I'm with Clown Girl here, I didn't understand any of it, but whatever, Sanae Clown Girl is a good girl , so there's that. Also a Zombie. ...hey, that makes even more sense, as we learned in SA, Hell Fairies like dressin' up as Zombies.
