So, does anyone know where I can find the lyrics to Koumajou Densetsu II's phantasm stage ending theme? The Touhou Wiki doesn't yet have the lyrics (page is redlinked), and I can't find them on youtube either. I can't read Kanji, but I think it's called 'Purple Banquet', but I've seen it as 'Then Purple' as well.

No, my Japanese is nowhere near good enough to attempt translating it by ear either.

Like, I can kind of get the gist, but the translation is about as off and unwieldy as all electronic translations are. For starters, what does the title even translate as, 'Purple Banquet' or 'Then Purple'? I imagine it's the former because the latter doesn't make a lick of sense, but it's what the track is called in the music file on Moriyashrine.

Sorry, but I just really want to know the words to this one song, since it's awesome and it's the only one off the soundtrack I can't find a translation for. Hate when that happens.

Idea: The PC-98 games are stories of miko-ing Reimu's mom told her

• HRtP is a whole bunch of unrelated stories that Reimu was too young to really understand
• SoEW (also PoDD and MS) is an embellished account of something Reimu's Grandma got up to
  • Goofy shit like talking turtles and random orb powers were added to appeal to a young audience
• PoDD:
  • This is the point that Reimu met Marisa and started imagining the witch character as her
  • Rika and Rikako should be the same person (actually a kappa with an entirely different name), but Mama Hakurei was bad at names
• LLS is an account of one of the earliest Hakurei miko, and consequentially only sort of resembles the actual events
  • The lake of blood, Yuuka causing problems, and whatever was going on with the Getsu sisters were originally unrelated incidents
  • The most recent change is the addition of a rival fight, since Reimu seemed to like the witch
• MS is the closest to being accurate

Seems legit.

Would that explain the possible existence of a robot maid and a rocket?

Going off that theory, Alice Margatroid recognizing Reimu during PCB is because she met Reimu when the miko was a child and knew about Reimu from the Hakurei mama who Alice fought in the past before becoming a full-pledged magician.

I dunno, that might explain why she aged up to look as old as, if not older than, the main cast.

Absolutely!

It mostly works, but the big wrinkle is PoDD's probability space hypervessel and a research party from another world. It's hard to imagine Reimu or a more miko-y miko being able to come up with those details without a convenient shower of sci-fi manga coming through the Border.

If we change the scenario to Yukari rambling about the adventures of previous Hakurei miko, we can fill that plot hole, at the risk of adding others.

"So where were you when all this stuff happened?"
"Oh, I was resting."
"So how do you know about it?"
"I had Ran look into it."

Also, can the Touhou community come together and figure out a name for the previous Hakurei shrine maiden? Something a little less ungainly than "the previous Hakurei shrine maiden" would be nice.

Otherwise I might start calling her "Preimu" and get on people's nerves. Or maybe Cindy.

I've sometimes wondered how fanworks would change if ZUN revealed that Gensokyo (or Touhou in general) was All Just a Dream.
