Very true, very true! Canon is clear on those instances, not gonna dispute those. In others, it's still possible that we have multiple protagonists

Oh hey, apparently each route in ULiL has a brief introduction providing some context. Highlights:
- Futo chose Okiku-san because it fit her, but ended up affected by her own curse and that's why she's looking for the tenth plate. In other words, Futo screwed up again.
- Kappa don't believe in urban legends, but wanted to profit off of this so they made the Nessie machine. Seems to have been a group kappa effort.
- Byakuren specifically set out to stop Miko from gathering the balls.
- Kokoro tried to become the Kuchisake-onna (as an actor?) but in doing so gave birth to a new personality within herself. This also created a brand new Occult Ball that wasn't sent by Sumireko (which is why Miko is surprised by it in Kokoro's route).
- The narration mocks Shinmyoumaru for having a stupid interpretation of the rumor.
