@Wa HH 27: As if Kogasa needed anymore of a reason to be one of the best characters.

It's always great when ZUN expands on the roles of a Youkai in Gensokyo.

Kogasa's last name is based on a blacksmith god, isn't it? Her being a blacksmith as well kind of makes sense. Haven't read the chapter itself though.

Kogasa is a blacksmith?! That is a surprise!

Huh. Reimu's needles are... a bit longer than I imagined. They're like.... whew, about 2-3 feet long? Also, apparently she's been using the same ones for a while. Guess she goes around and picks them up every once in a while.

We also get to see her ofuda up close!

Reimu really is a gloriously terrible shrine maiden.

Also, now we need to see Kogasa teaming up with the Kappa to produce amazing. Fans go!

Poor Kogasa. She really needs to know that you can't be a shopkeeper in a fantasy RPG without being leveled super-high or having NPC immunity.

Interesting. So does that mean the tsukumogami's shared ability is that they can imprint the other's power as their own, as Raiko also gets a similar property with Raijin? I think I saw it somewhere that Kogasa's surname is Tatara only because she wants to be like Ippon-Datara.

Nah. All youkai do that. Yoshika has infectious bites, Banki can detach her head and grow her neck, etc. Syncretism is a powerful thing

I want to apologize to you for dropping you down to #4 from #2 on my Favorite Touhous List last year Sadly, you had not appeared in anything for quite a while in official Touhou Works, while the other top characters did...

But now, I want to congratulate you for your glorious comeback in this latest chapter of WAAAAGGGHHHH! : you had even bigger screentime and were cuter and more awesome than I would have assumed even after Clarste's advance praise. And you SUPRISE!'d all of us again by revealing an amazing talent of yours that expands your character into bewildering heights. Just amazing.

So, I hope there's no hard feelings. I still super like you. Please keep it up!

Its interesting that she says she needs this one big job so that she can goof off the rest of the year. What does she need money for? Or is it a big job of doing cyclops-related youkai thing to pay off her youkai dues so she can spend the year doing what she loves but isn't very good at?

p91: Is the bit on the top-left a reference to that time in Sangetsusei where they spooked Reimu into reading her newspapers?

p94: She's holding two weapons in the middle panel, so I'm guessing her dialogue should be plural.

p95: Ditto - "if they turned into tsukumogami".

Well, I'd be lying if I said Kogasa didn't surprise me this chapter. For all your forging needs, call her! She'll also repair other everyday items. Such a versatile umbrella.

...Why does she need to rake in some coin in order to goof off for the rest of the year, though? Can't she just...goof off all year long?

Also, kinda nice that Reimu's shot types were analyzed/explained. And who knows, this chapter may have been foreshadowing a new needle shot type that will appear in a future game. Courtesy of our Surprise Blacksmith! *rounds of applause*

Maybe the reason why she needs to work at least once an year is the reason why she's so good of a blacksmith: she is a tool. And she must proof that she is a tool. Its just that it is so loose that she needs to work one day per year.
