So Reisen can do science. I want to see her and Nitori trying to outdo each other now

But that's not fair. Nitori has a huge lead on Reisen and has not managed to produce anything of value or even blow up a mountain.

She's better than she used to be, sure. But only in the same way that a small earthquake is better than California falling into the sea.

Reisen is the smuggest, most selfish person in Eientei. If Eirin didn't keep her overworked, she'd probably be running around the Human Village shouting "bow down puny humans!" by now. Also is she supposed to look Caucasian here, what with the lipstick and the oddly prominent nose?

Speaking of inventions... "Ultra-Sonic Kitty Cat"... sounds like a name Clement would come up with. And since I brought it up, I must do this.

Unlike Clement, Reisen doesn't have to worry about inventions blowing up in her face. Acting on her own, on the other hand...

Also, speaking of smugness and science, I shan't be surprised should Nitori brag about one of her latest inventions.

Remember when she started mocking Remilia's moon rocket? Or how she bosses around Tewi and her earth rabbits despite Tewi effectively being her landlord? (and the Rabbit Horn League in particular) Then there's her SWR profile:

I want to say that technically the lizard wasn't a dragon yet, and therefore it's not cannibalism, but saying so would interfere with my ability to say that Kasen punched a lightning bolt that was also a dragon, and I don't want that. So I'll have to let your claim stand, for now.

Both on the cover and in the manga itself, Kasen riding through a thunderstorm on her DRAGON, that is so freakin' METAL! That (and the EVEN more Badass and kinda disturbing Dragon Crushing Action) could pretty much be a Metal Album Cover or something like that (well, with more Fanservice, probably -_-)

Oh man, I love continuity so much, and the interconnectedness of the two mangas! With the cause of the rain and the floods in one manga, and the effect in another, so cool! Also, Marisa's nod to the Shrine fire in an earlier issue, and her stealing the books from Suzunaan, which we saw in FS! (also, that was my confirmation on my question I asked yesterday, sweet)

Also, was that the first true incident that Kasen caused?

Oh, also Clarste, I forgot to say so yesterday, but your page in FS where you explained the Medicine Box and the writing on it, that was very well done and understandable!

It was also a reference to an early chapter of FS (the one with the smoke monster). The shrine burning down is a strangely recurring threat in the manga, which Marisa lampshaded. I probably it more clearly because I have to keep looking up different Japanese synonyms for "fire". Also it made me wonder why English doesn't have a nice simple word for a building burning down.

I'm sure it will count as a Kerfuffle in the long run, although it does seem like its effects were pretty disastrous, especially compared to more recent Incidents. I guess what matters in the long run is that no one noticed the extent of her involvement: they just thought it was bad weather.

So is this the first time we actually see an on-screen death in Touhou? Or any death even.

Yuyuko supposedly invited some people for a flower viewing in PCB, which implies death, but then again Sakuya died in EOSD and Mystia died in IN, so it's hard to tell if we can trust boss banter to be anything more than posturing.

If we're talking "while the story is focusing on them" though, Iwakasa died in CILR.

I assume Death by Origin Story doesn't count here.

Not on screen, but in POFV, Reisen implied some villager disappearances were caused by Mystia (i.e. she ate them). However later canon seemed to have removed any possibility that Mystia can successfully harm anyone.
