Pigeon Blood – Fortune Days. Meiling's new literature of choice is an often-right fortune telling magazine written by Patchy. Also, she like likes Sakuya. So when the magazine foretells doom in romance unless she confesses on a beach, she gets a little panicky. She asks Sakuya on a swimming date to the lake since its the closest thing they have to a beach. Sakuya initially says no but eventually folds after constant nagging from Meiling. But she doesn't seem thrilled to be going. When they get to the lake Meiling jumps in with all her clothes on because swimsuits are only for indoor pools. Meiling tells Sakuya that if she doesn't want to be there they can just forget the whole thing forever. But Sakuya reveals that she didn't want to go to the lake (but was open for dating in general) because she can't swim. She reveals this by jumping into the lake. PERFECT AND ELEGANT MAID.

To lighten the mood, Meiling pretends to drown and then Sakuya really drowns and then Meiling gives her underwater makeouts to save her life. After they get back on dry land, Sakuya decides that besides the drowning thing something like this isn't bad once in a while and reveals that the magazine Meiling was reading was a year out of date. Silly Meiling, not checking the dates on a weekly horoscope. Anyway, then Sakuya surprise makes-out with Meiling and says that for the next date, Sakuya gets to decide what they do. And that Meiling is banned from reading (on the job).

This was one of the ones I read on danbooru before it got gensokyo.org'd. Its one of those crazy shipping stories. One of those crazy shipping stories where people are allergic to just disclosing information. It is interesting to read through it again once you know the twist since it becomes more obvious that is the swimming part of the date invitation that turned Sakuya off. But Meiling is not wearing pants so this doujin loses points.

Blue – Touhou Blue Book: Each Time and Place’s Happiness. One day Remilia brings home a tied up small child. She was going to nosh on her but the girl keeps phasing around whenever Remi tries to touch her. Since she can't eat her, she decides to keep her as a pet. This involves putting one of her spare hats on her, putting a collar on her, and chaining her to a bed. Maid Meiling takes a liking to small child that Remi named Sakuya and convinces Remilia to let Sakuya work beside her as a maid. Meiling says that they could be like family so Sakuya calls her sister.

As might be expected, Sakuya quickly becomes better at the maiding than Meiling is. After a time skip, the mansion has become such a nice place that its attracted fairy maids who have been put to work and who have formed a Sakuya fan club. Meiling has meanwhile developed a tendency to skip out on work now that there are more people around to do her job. So its not much of a surprise when Remi appoints Sakuya to be head maid and pulls a trump and fires Meiling only to hire her back immediately afterward as the gate guard.

Since Remi can't watch the gate, she puts Sakuya in charge of supervising Meiling. Meiling tells Sakuya that in public, she'll have to address her properly now that she's higher ranked but that she'll always be her little sister but Sakuya tells her that Meiling has become more than just her beloved sister. Meiling immediately starts slacking off on her new job while Remi and Patchy muse about fate and how Meiling/Sakuya will have to decide their own fate.

Is it so hard to draw pants on Meiling, doujin artists? You lose points so just be happy you got lots of points for basically reminding me wholesale of Unimate's comic about Sakuya and Meiling except without the implication that Meiling was secretly devious. Also, you get points for depicting a Remi and Patchy that felt like friends. Like when Remilia was joking about renaming Patchy Patchouli Scarlet. I do kind of wonder where Flandre was. I don't think she even gets a mention. Anyway, this was good. And now I'm going to go reread the Bright Future doujin.

The moon bunnies are more like slaves than pets. Reisen II was all for bunny liberty when she was a pet, and her desire for freedom was in fact the reason she ran away from the Moon, kick-starting the plot of SSiB. As soon as she gets a position of relative power from les soers lunaires, she basically goes 'wow rabbit emancipation is a stupid idea'. It's all here

And maybe that's now how it was written, but that's how it comes across.

Kanako's oval bullets are crops. In her 2nd MOF spell card, she removed the husks, exposing the grains inside. The generally accepted explanation for those bullets' infamous hitbox is it's used to represents the stickiness of sticky rice/mochi rice.

But did Kanako sincerely want to help, yet couldn't help making full use of every chance to sound like an evil mastermind, resulting in others to ignore her suggestions and beat her up anyway?

I wish I could do youkai space travel, where the ship is powered on FM synthesis and constantly belts out a tune of happiness and longing.

Hyper Summer Wars – Cover-Buy and Hyper Summer Wars – Toughguy. Gonna cover these together because Bomber Grape. But also because how do you even review Bomber Grape? Anyway, the first one is mostly three vignettes where Kanako sets up marriage interviews for three different people with Bomber Grapeish results. The second one is even more loosely themed around Eirin doctoring people in sort of questionable ways. There's also an opening story in both doujins that doesn't quite fit the loose theme but maybe I'm just trying to ascribe a pattern to chaos.

Its Bomber Grape! You either like his surreal non-sequitor humor or you don't. I got some laughs out of it so that's something. I have to say that one of the two sort of fails as a Touhou comic since it didn't end with something exploding.

Yay, I finally achieved brevity in the end.

So, I finally tried playing IAMP.

And oh my goodness the difference in polish between it and SWR is staggering. And I keep trying to do stuff based on SWR reflexes, like flying upwards to avoid shots.

Though I do admit that I like being able to spam a spellcard.

Speaking of the game, apparently Sakuya's the one who actually did Perfect Cherry Blossom? But then how did Reimu get acquainted with Yukari?
