- People announcing their departure or return.
- Moderators announcing a significant forum ban — not trolls or vandals, but someone people will notice and miss.
- Inquiries about an absent troper.
- Responses to inquiries about an absent troper.

Well I am pretty fucking pissed right now.
I am not now nor have I ever been in the "Tvtropes is a cesspit" camp, but this is pretty indicative of some problems. I can understand prior bans (Anne had an attitude problem, as a for instance), but this is just arbitrary. I have literally never seen Cygan Angel post something that was not civil, well-worded, and at least attempting to make a point. Which is more than I can say for a good 95% of this forum, myself included.
The day when politely voicing your concerns counts as "attacking the staff" is the day myself and about two dozen other people at the very least get the hammer. Two moderators included. Is that really such a great idea?
Any time someone is banned for something like "being too critical" it only proves the paranoid and the detractors right. Do you honestly want to become what they think you are?

I have seen her post things that were uncivil. She frequently let her emotions get the better of her. I don't want to defame her or anything, but there probably was a stack of straws. I would like specific examples, because I didn't notice any of her posts thumped, and I went back to check.

Bad bans don't bug me half as much as ragequits.
Cygan's been trying to get banned for weeks, but Bobby G wouldn't let her. So I'm not to ruffled about this.

I question whether Cygan wanted to get banned or not. Couldn't say for sure, with her, though. Insofar as I can tell, she is a mystery a lot of the time. Figuring out what she means and why she does things is like a wonderfully mindfuck-filled puzzle. And probably shouldn't be, but I'm fail like that.
