What the hell is this? I thought the people behind this had to fold due to losses...

Take 2 still owns it. They HAVE to list 3D Realms, tho.

It... just... won't... DIE!

Though, to be honest, I question the use of regenerating health. Where's the health meters? I can't help but think that with an old-school blow-'em-up like Duke Nukem, you need a health meter. He's had them since he was a blob of pixels on a DOS screen, he needs them in full 3D with polygon models.

Right now, 3D Realms (listed as Apogee, their legal name) and Take-Two Interactive (the publisher) are in a lawsuit over the former's failure to complete the game, and the code is to remain untouched until the lawsuit ends. So don't expect it to get released for a while

The health meter is in the upper left.

There's an update: this is a fan-made trailer but... DUKE NUKEM FOREVER IS GOLD. Dear Lord... it's nearly the end of this odyssey.

I know. Look closer at it. Whenever Duke isn't hit for a while, it regenerates.

No, it's that it would have been gold if 3D Realms didn't release the entire development team and the game got stuck in legal battle between 3DR and Take 2.

The worst part is that unless this is released to the XBLA, the game will be outdated by the time the lawsuit finishes and will have to be overhauled again.

Nobody knows. There were rumors that the game used the Doom 3/Quake 4 engine a few years ago, but 3D Realms denied that.

Any recent news on the lawsuit? Anything I find is still last summer, without a peep since then. The only news in the last six months is this "trailer" (if that's what it is) and the voice actor saying "why can't I talk about it".

And seriously, what's with "Duke Begins" and this "other games" malarkey? Finish DNF first!

So... the game is actually finished but just tied up in legal red tape? We are going to actually see a finalized, purchasable game named Duke Nukem Forever? Heh. You know, my guess is that the game's going to be a pile of crap but people are still going to buy it in ridiculous numbers just because they think it's funny. At least I can be fairly confident in the knowledge that even if every person who has ever made a joke about DNF purchased a copy, they probably still wouldn't make a profit off the monstrosity.

I'm not actually interested in playing this game. I find it amazing what it's been through.

And yeah, I make jokes about it.

It's not done. If a completed game existed, we'd hear about it through proper press releases or something.

But I really want to know about that lawsuit, darn it! Shouldn't it still be in the news, if only for "this case will take longer to resolve than the game's development!" jokes.

To what degree is Duke Nukem Forever forcibly tied to Duke Nukem himself? That is to say, since they're probably gonna throw out everything except the name, can't whoever currently has rights to Duke Nukem forget the "Forever" name and release a Duke Nukem game with a different name? At this point, Forever is a joke, but the Duke himself isn't completely tarnished.

They should have just released another 2D game and claimed they were cashing in on the "retro" craze.

Bag: So, they should have just re-released Manhattan Project, then?

Anyway, while I'm not exactly waiting anxiously for DNF to make its big comeback, all this new footage has to be coming from somewhere...and hopefully not just abandoned 3DRealms demo reels.
