All Purpose Negima Fanfiction Thread

I did read the manga, but the manga I read was Negima, not UQ Holder, which had made several jarring retcons to Negima before I stopped reading it. The soul-destroying spell not being in the forbidden section would be less jarring than what I’m already aware of it changing.

Why is everyone still reading that OTHER work? Seriously?

Or did everyone become masochists when I wasn't looking?

BTW, I now have a girlfriend. And I lent her volume 14 (Ako's arc in Mahorafest). She loved it and wants to read the rest of the manga (That's the earliest volume I had with me, in case you were wondering).

Cool. I recently tried to introduce my younger cousin to some series. She wasn't very interested in Negima for some reason, but I had great success with Soul Eater, One Punch Man, My Hero Academia, and Dresden Files.

Ask her to come here so we can talk about it?

Random fanfic question, who in 3-A besides Eva seems like a gamer?

Researching for your story? I've always thought Misora was the gamer type, but with her direct supervisor playing, it might be hard to coax her into the group.

That said, I thought of something the other day: What would happen if Chisame was using her Artifact to surf the 'Net and power suddenly went out all over Mahora? I don't mean like 'lightning storm,' this would be more like 'idiot drives off the road and wrecks truck into electric pole.'

It would probably just pop her back into her body, since it's an interface, not a matrix jack. Like having the cable of your monitor suddenly get pulled out.

And I meant videogames, not pen and paper. For the past few months I've been wantng to write a Gamer-type fic, but have no one to write it about who's not already overpowered, whose in-universe magic won't allow it, or who would not have anything to do with it. The closest I could think of would be a Wearing the Cape/The World God Only Knows crossover.

Chisame and the twins are the ones who strike me as most likely to engage in such frivolities, instead of spending their leisure time playing sports or reading books or running a business or the like. Conveniently they're all pretty underpowered for the setting and thus have room to grow from Gamer powers.

A World God Only Knows one seems like it would be fun, if only for Keima's unendning frustration that he's in a game world now and it's some MMO bullshit that has nothing to do with capturing girls.

It might have to be the twins. Hmm, should I give them the same power or complementary powers? And how wouldI make complementary Gamer powers? The Gamer power as is is pretty complete. Unless I make it theme based? Like FPS Gamer powers and Tower Defense Gamer powers? Ooh, it could be there used to be a single Gamer power, but it was fractured into sub genres...

Hey yeah, that's a good idea. Heck, you could do a whole big multicross where everyone gets powers based off of a specific game. You could call it My Gamer Academia and ever update it again.

The second anime has Asuna, Setsuna and Konoka enjoying video games if you want to use that.

I showed my girlfriend your responses, but I think she's a bit too shy to join at this point. Besides, she hasn't read much yet. That said, she has been telling me to try Soul Eater herself. I also introduced her toPMMM. She has not seen Rebellion yet, and Homura is her favorite character, so that will be interesting.

Soul Eater and Soul Eater NOT the anime are good. I have heard good things about the manga even though I have yet to really buy Soul Eater and only have a couple of volumes of NOT.

I seem to have the rule of thumb of watching the anime first before reading the manga. Because 99% of the time, the anime seems to be worse than the manga. It's not intentional, but for some reason the anime always suffers a bit.

Of course there is always the live-action version. Which should never be discussed for any reason.

Which is why Negima is now trying for a...stage play. Welp.

It will be VERY interesting to see how they handle the sneezing scenes. From a purely technical stagecraft perspective, of course .

@okay, that's fair. However, I'd realized I'd backed myself into a corner, which considering it was only the second chapter, was amazing. It wasn't like I could have terrorists attack the school on the first day...

Well...this. Its kind of amazing that they're trying to pull this off with a series that's ended over half a decade ago, but man, what a series to try and adapt to a stage play.

I don't know how they'll pull that off.

Also, my girlfriend enjoyed PMMM, but was naturally upset about certain scenes.

So...has anyone seen that thing about a 39th volume for Negima, or have I finally become untethered to reality?

Is it to announce UQ was an elaborate hoax and Akamatsu has really been working on Negima all this time?
