So, the anime is trying to milk the Negima connection even more than the manga, with HUGE story cuts.
I miss the days when we posted a lot and made up memes- or at the very least, running gags.

Its kind of sad that the discussions are all dead despite there being an ongoing sequel series. UQ Holder stuff (I presume, I honestly don't see it brought up a lot) kind of keeps to itself, despite the Negima connection, and all of the older fans have probably moved on at this point. Even the anime doesn't seem to have helped much, but to their credit, UQ Holder is a mess in the beginning to work with.
I haven't been on Iridia-tan lately, but has discussion died there also?
Madman with a box? I'm a madman with a semi, a pretzel bender and a Heart of Gold!OM's still a machine and there's random chatter in the shoutbox, but other than that it's pretty silent.
The UQ anime seems to be trying to pretend the non-Negima parts didn't happen. Ironic, really.
The what parts, now?
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus. The chapters and parts of the manga that can't be directly linked to Negima.
Anyone else find it odd that Koyomi's Time Stands Still artefact is capable of beating the LM a Physical God, yet she still got beaten by Jack Rakan and AA?

Didn't look at UQ in a while, did LM make the mistake of leaving her enough time to fully activate it? Because that's precisely what Rakan did not.

"And as long as a sack of shit is not a good thing to be, chivalry will never die."The Lifemaker in Nagi's body ripped out his own heart to body hop, got frozen, and was blasted out by Negi/Asuna the same way they took out the Lifemaker's projection at the end of Negima. No idea why this time was different though, since the Lifemaker didn't spazz out like some Evangelion reject before taking Zecht.
If by AA and and Rakan you mean, Negi Negi Negi, then no, I'm not surprised.
I mean Ala Alba without Negi
Misread what you meant, my apologies.
The short answer is that the Lifemaker's climatic battle at the end is a heap of shit that was just slapped together like everything Akamatsu has done in the past few years. I don't know why Akamatsu has a thing for Stardust Crusaders right now, but he deems it necessary to make the whole Time Stands Still mean something. Frankly, it shouldn't of worked, but who cares? Not Akamatsu.
Ala Alba ain't stupid either, so there's that. Koyomi's artifact could only dilate and distort time within a set radius, so against multiple opponents, or one you can't lock down, its not very effective. It pairs up well with Tamaki's artifact which chucks someone in a dimensional barrier, which seemed to be its entire shtick.
So, upon consideration... is Kirei truly immortal? Technically, she's still aging and shows no signs of NOT dying (her powers are in fact triggered by her death). While she can savescum her way to not dying AGAIN, she's likely the member of UQ holder most likely to die of old age, what with the still-aging thing.
E Dit: There was an animation error like six fingers Makie again, seen here◊. As you can see, they accidentally drew Chisame smiling.

The Akamatsu curse for adaptations still running strong I see. That reminds me, the Pachinko machine for Negima gave Haruna reddish pink hair again I hear.
I've thought the same thing about Kirie, but I honestly have no clue. I mean, without whatever ritual it is she does to save scum, she'd technically get killed outright if she didn't light her little flame, so I wouldn't even consider immortal to begin with. Holder plays pretty loosely with being immortal anyway. Not!Nagi can still die if his head gets blasted apart, video game man could probably theoretically run out of lives, and Ikkuu would bite the dust if he can't back up his memory somewhere.

Didn't that bit about jellyfish in the first chapter establish that you just need to be unaging to be immortal? We don't exactly know much about Extra Lives Guy and Kirei's background is also pretty much a blank, so they could be unaging and also have that other shit going on. And robots'll last a lot longer than meatbags if properly maintained.
I think we are putting more thought into this than Akamatsu is. Which is as sad as it sounds.
Madman with a box? I'm a madman with a semi, a pretzel bender and a Heart of Gold! And more effort then the animation team for the anime is. Yikes.
I think Akamatsu must have REALLY pissed someone off in a past life, because that's the only explanation as to why ALL animated adaptations of his works end up so cursed. Love Hina, okay, understandable, they were trying to ape Ranma. Itsudatte my Santa? There was only so much they could do with the material. But Negima? Negima again? UQ? No. No, he's definitely cursed, because there's no other reason why he'd have bad anime that many times in a row.
All I know is that Negima had to be cut short because of Kodansha trying to take the copyright from him.
Is it just me, or does anime Ialda look even MORE like an evil Saber than usual?
And now that I come to read it, I agree that the ONE thing the anime did right was cut out all the Dana crap. It's still horrible but it's significantly less horrible, in the way that a murder-spree is less horrible than a Death Star attack.
Yeah, that was nice. I frankly don't care much for the character, and I hate the arc she's associated with even more.
Shame about Santa and his arc though. Take away the stupid zombie apocalypse, his is otherwise the only good arc Holder has.
They had to excise all the goodness to keep things even.
There was goodness to excise?
Kidding! No really, I'm kidding.
I have heard that the anime has actually included things that really should have been in the manga, such as a meeting between Evangeline and Ayaka in the Headmaster's office.
Wonder if Laura Bailey will be doing double-duty again for both voices if they ever make a dub.
Madman with a box? I'm a madman with a semi, a pretzel bender and a Heart of Gold! It's midnight here, so Merry Christmas!
But since kanka requires becoming nothing, being smart would just get in the way! :V More seriously, while mastering kanka is certainly an impressive accomplishment, I don't think being able to achieve a state of no-mind necessarily correlates with intellectual ability. You're right that we don't know much about Twilight-Princess-mode Asuna's brainpower, though, so there's nothing really preventing her from being a smarty-pants.
