Nearly everything associated with Discovery Communications pretty much went down the crapper. Which, sadly, isn't too surprising.
I'm still sobbing over Tech TV/G4...
Wait, don't microchips... Oh, sorry, that's Taiwan.
Rather than smart, I'd prefer to be wise. It would let me be silly more often.Let me guess, you got your current Asuna avatar from the same usual source?
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus."Now, before you start your first day at the job, Negi-kun," Headmaster Konoe said, "there's something you need to know. If you ever see this man anywhere within or close to the Mahora borders," he added, pulling out a profile picture of a hairy man with a cowboy hat smoking a cigar; next to that picture there was a smaller one showing the same man wearing a black and yellow spandex mask that only showed his stubble, "warn us on the double and don't even try to talk with him. His name's Wolverine, also known as Logan-san. At least twice a year, he will come to Japan, which invariably results into massive assaults of ninja sects resulting into hundreds of deaths, massive public and private property destruction, and a disturbingly large amount of underage girls and other females who fall in love with him, despite his poor personal hygiene and rough manners."
Shizuna-sensei sighed dreamily then, making Konoe and Negi share a mildly creeped out look.
"I understand, Sir," Negi nodded. "I will always keep it in mind."
"Good, good," the old man said, pulling out another picture. "Now, this other man is named Deadpool. If you ever meet him, call us as well, but only after vigorously praying for your life and mental health, and we'll immediately ship you or your remains back to Wales, considering you have passed your test automatically. No blame will be placed on your shoulders. Please don't ask me on this subject and just trust my word on it, will you...?"

Utterly hilarious!
Hey, I was struck by this idea: What if Deadpool developed a soft spot for Negi (perhaps due to his girlfriend Siryn's influence) and decided to "help" him out with his adventures and love life?
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Unlikely.
He would, however, recognize Negi as the main character and tag along for the sole purpose of getting more screentime because more screentime means he gets to do more things. And 'more things' refers to Nekane. He gets to do Nekane, is what I'm saying. Yes, that's a thing that happened.

@Marq: Yup. I always did like all of their outfits during Godels ball, despite how low some of them are cut. Apparently Akamatsu liked Asuna's hair that way too, as Shiori!Asuna kept that hair the entire time afterward, and he brought it back when they were going to meet with the prime minister or something.
Does Deadpool frequent Japan as often as Logan? I never really read a whole lot of Deadpool even though I kind of want to.
AFAIK, no. Problem is, he's Deadpool. He has potential of levelling the whole Midwest by accident, by triggering Rule Goldberg-esque events that lead to activation of Russian's reserve nukes that goes straight to US. That goes dud and somehow hit weak point of Caribbean Tectonic Plate, triggering earthquake that release all Midwest natural gas reserve at once... during 4th July.
Deadpool doesn't go to places.
Places go to Deadpool.

I am going to be running GURPS games at Tsunami Con in Wichita Kansas the fourth weekend of October.
I am strongly tempted to run a GURPS Negima game and have the players be one of the girls in 3A. I have an adventure in mind, but I am not sure I can create 31 sets of character sheets before the end of this month.
Generic descriptions of each of the girls, or even Tropes would be very useful to me.
Madman with a box? I'm a madman with a semi, a pretzel bender and a Heart of Gold! What, descriptions like "ghost, athletic magic gunner, sneaky investigative reporter, learned mage?" I'm not really familiar with GURPS.
If you want the girls described as tropes, well that's what the Negima character sheet is for.
Will you be committing the sacrilege of considering UQ as having actually happened?
All character within the universe receive a -30 debuff in their Intelligence attribute.
Poor Asuna, she only had a base Intelligence of 25.
I mostly work with the d20 srd, sorry.
I'm more of a Rune Quest person myself.
UQ Holder as a TRPG would be the most boring thing to play, ever. I'd spend the vast majority of the time figuring out how a single character manages to pass ALL of the potential Skill/Attribute checks with none of them making any sense whatsoever.

Maybe Touta just has god's own dice.
The simplest system I've ever played was the FATE system, which eventually grew up to become the Dresden Files RPG. Very nice, simple, elegant. I used it to run a magical girl game. It actually WORKED. Plus creating NPCs and enemies was so simple I nearly cried.
FATE's also the basis for the Atomic Robo RPG. The source material for which is great and can now be read for free online all legal-like, by the way. And it's the stars Nikola Tesla's robot son doing things like giant bugs and complaining about their failure to adhere to the square-cube law or teaming up with Carl Sagan to fend off an Eldritch Abomination.
It's also got this great World of Badass thing going on where being a geologist, a trucker, or that guy who's good with spreadsheets can all help you do heroism.

It's sounds vaguely like Dr Mcninja's universe.
Mm. More adherence to reality, though, or at least real-world fringe and conspiracy theories, rather than the good doctor's random weirdness. Like, McNinja has dinosaur riding banditos, because fuck it. When a talking dinosaur shows up in Atomic Robo, he's immediately pegged as a genetic experiment because he looks more like a Jurassic Park velociraptor rather than any of the feathered raptors actually found in the fossil record.
Negima/Assassination Classroom fusion fic.
One day, Negi Springfield, Prince of Planet Mars, descends upon Earth, destroys part of the Moon, and then very politely announces he'll destroy Earth in a year unless mankind can kill him first. In the meanwhile, he'll be teaching classes in Japan since that's what he has to do to earn his right to his parents' throne. Well, that and destroying Earth.
Negi decides to settle at Class 3-A of Mahora Academy, the most troubling class in the most troubling school of all Japan. In the meanwhile, the authorities, in a desperate bid, promise one thousand million dollars to the student who manages to kill Negi. Can they do it before he teaches them a lot of important, valuable life lessons?

That definitely doesn't belong on the History Channel. It doesn't even have aliens in it.
