There's a beach at the bottom of the tower. It's built on a south pacific island theme.

Nagi can kick her ass in a dream without waking up and apologizing, Rakan can dodge that move she used on CE, and Al dares call her "Kitty." That looks like more than one to me.

Nagi, The Lifemaker, maybe Zecht, and Rakan (That ones a toss up, but I'd hedge my bets on Eva) can fight above or on equal ground as Eva, but Al's harder to pin down. He probably antagonizes her because he knows he can, between Eva's depowered state and the fact that all of her physical assaults phase through him at will. All we have on him is that Kaede made him bust out his artifact, and that he took on Dynamis and the giant summon Chacha nuked simultaneously, though the prior faked dead or buggered out. And he's really old, but that doesn't equate to power by itself.

Still, this is talking about vanilla Eva. If she used Armationem buffs, that would change the fight dramatically.

Nagi doesn't count cause she likes him. Al doesn't count either since she'd have to burn every book in Library Island to even find him. Only Jack counts.

Now that I've had a relatively restful weekend, I feel vaguely human again. Thus I feel free to respond to past posts.

@Skorm re:Corruption I have no idea why but watching someone being twisted to their breaking point interests me. One Bad Day (I think that is the title) is one of my favorite Batman stories because the Joker is deliberately trying to break Gordon. And fails spectacularly. Oddly enough, Nodoka in Decadent Habits is a good example of a slowly corrupted character. Rapid corruption is just too silly.

At the end of the manga, Nagi was alive and the Lifemaker was defeated offscreen. This is, again, prior to UQ Holder!'s bullshit.

This leads me to assume that the only person who remains on the 'can defeat Evangeline' tier is Nagi... though it might just be because she didn't use Armationem back during her fight with him. She might have just forgotten Magia Erebea existed until Negi brought it back to her attention. She used it only back when she was 'super weak', after all.

Evangeline can fight with a high enough level of speed to keep up with Negi while he's using Permanent Lightning Form. And unlike Negi, she does not lack in raw firepower to put Rakan down. This leads me to assume she can, in fact, do exactly that.

Chisame's secret is still that she's a net idol. She will have other conspiracies think she's one of them, but that's to do with cosplay, not hacking.

Eh, maybe. The core reason why Eva tends to supplement herself with dolls/Chachazero is because she's still vulnerable when trying to get her big hits in. While Negi does have one spell that could probably harm Jack, it wasn't at all useful in the scenario they were fighting in. With those two, its really a case of what's going on in the fight and who can keep pressure on who that'll actually win the day. If it devolves into a melee, I'm more willing to go with Jack in that one, but if Eva can fire off one of her larger spells, those will probably do enough damage to cause serious harm to Jack. The fact that one can passively regen and the other can't helps.

But if Eva can get her Armationem up, its easily her fight. Being able to fire off ice based spells below High-Ancient with no limitations tends to do that.

Negi is much, much faster than Jack Rakan, and Evangeline succesfuly kept him at bay.

Even if Evangeline was weak in melee, which she isn't by the way, since I remind you that Evangeline outfights Negi in melee in their last fight, she could keep a much more annoying opponent at bay, which tells me she would probably have it even easier to keep Rakan away.

Plus, Evangeline is (ugh) immortal, even in Negima. At worse, she just has to outlast her enemies until they're so tired they start making lethal mistakes.

Again, this wouldn't work on Jack, but maybe she she wears easily-removed panties deliberately so she can throw them to the side as a distraction and kill him while he can't resist his instincts.

Knowing Evangeline, if she knew she was going into a fight with Rakan, she probably wouldn't wear underwear in the first place.

It's the first thing Rakan's gonna target anyway, even if he knows he's got zero chance of winning by scoring a Defeat by Modesty. Because it's Rakan. All wearing panties achieves against him is just ruining a perfectly good pair.

I dunno, I was under the impression that Eva was just flat tanking Negi's blows in her ice form rather than actually moving at the same speed. Aside from Negi's big spells, we know he isn't strong enough to actually inflict any damage on anyone with strong enough defenses. She only seemed to defend and strike in the time Negi actually made the mistake of directly appearing in front of her. Like Al said, Negi was still able to make up for the difference in experience for raw speed.

But! Since Rakan couldn't even manage that, I'll take back what I said about Jack being able to match/oust her.

I remind you, Negi's reflexes are also boosted to lightning speed levels. To the point that Rakan could not actually hit Negi. Evangeline could.

She probably keeps a set of completely expendable pairs of underwear just so that she can lure Rakan into making the mistake of going for that move instead of a more productive attack, only for her to be completely unfazed as she shows him the error of his decision by smacking with whatever attack she had charged up during the time he wasted ruining her underwear.

And IIRC she did that before she went into her own Magia Erebea form... which may not have enhanced her reflexes or speed by much, actually.

What if you faced Rakan wearing panties under the Hulk's pants? Would the universe implode?

As far as I'm aware, ME's buffs (Aside from the passive boost of power it provides Negi) are very specific in that you'll take on different characteristics based on the individual spell, and not necciscairly having gains all across the board. And IIRC, she batted him back before she triggered her own while Negi was still in RTI, which most experienced fighters seem to be able to do if they know what they're dealing with.

Rakan can probably take Catwoman's underwear without taking her Catsuit off to do it, so even if you wore The Hulk's pants, I doubt it'd deter him much.

At some point. Not sure if I want to do a few sequences to fill in the timeskip I just did, or just forge on ahead to First Day Of Class With Negi-Sensei and allude to those events later. Yes, yes, the next words out of y'all's mouths will be Show, Don't Tell, but I can show at least some of that stuff later via flashback, and doing so may in fact be more appropriate. Like Sakurako telling Misa and Chisame about the circumstances in which she, too, wound up getting a Stand.

@SCM I am still trying to decide if I should be annoyed that my MGE/Negima crossover idea only received a few comments or HAPPY that it received only a few comments. Are my ideas no longer that fantastic that no one pays attention any more or what?

I am strongly leaning towards Inari for Chisame just because I already have images of her as a succubus type creature already. Which means I need to pay that artist more. :)

I'm not into the Monster Girl Encyclopedia, per se. I liked Monster Girl Quest, and I'll probably find a way to get Paradox once it gets translated, but I was into Monster Girl Quest because it had a surprisingly good story with likable characters.

I would also like to point out that I keep running into Eroge with surprisingly likable characters, decent stories or even decent game play.
