In Japan, it's One Piece that succeeded Dragon Ball. Naruto is reasonably big there, but still small potatoes compared to OP. Bleach lags far behind the two (IIRC, even Fairy Tail has more of a presence in Japan).

It is probably the MANLIEST manga to have come out in quite some time. Hell the opening theme of the anime is manly also, probably as a homage to anime/manga that were like that in the olden days.
