Live again! At least until the end of June, the update schedule is one page of Mare Internum each Tuesday, one page of The Meek each Thursday.
Man. I didn't realize how much missed this comic.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."I'm so happy that this is back. We dive right into the plot on this page and I'm delighted.
Oh yeah, her, we lost her, like, three years ago?
New page. Featuring Angora! Our long-missed heroine!
Also, beautiful forest scenery, a small Time Skip, and a tree that somehow does manage to look a bit like Pinter.

Once again, Angora proves she is the best at first impressions.
There isn't an update, BUT, it is relevant!
Der-Shing Helmer has started up a Patreon, so The Meek could maybe go the way of a full-time, supported webcomic like Lackadaisy or... name me another comic that's supported by Patreon? Anyway, it's very promising, and if anyone here is interested, well, there's the link. :)
And now an actual update!
No friendship for you, Pinter.
New Update, with the Patreon-backed promise of regular once weekly updates on Wednesdays to come.
Pinter is probably dusting the cobwebs off of his "Santri cultural mores 101" mental guide.
Also, hellooo? Where is everybody else?
I'm following it. Not much is happening yet.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Also I'm here. But yeah, the problem with this kind of one-page-at-the-time formats is that not every page can have something super worth commenting on.
Page 4.17. In which Angora has no respect at all for people who can't climb through the jungle like a monkey.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Huh. So that guy decided to travel with them after all.
So this is back. I'll do an archive binge, then start reading again.
Should I have archive binged to get all the content in this comic? I admit that many of the references are over my head.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"No... I'd say that most of the stuff that they talk about are either brought up for the first time (the Holy Land, Pinter's apparently posthumous best friend) or big enough elements that you shouldn't need an archive binge to get it (the first chapter was set entirely in a "timberman" camp that Pinter mentions; we've only now got the name for the region). And the idea that there's prejudice against mixed-race people, that's the first time this has explicitly come up, but it's not surprising, considering the tensions that seem to exist between the three ethnic groups.
Of course, if you did want to do an archive binge, The Meek is (for now) a manageable undertaking.
Well, it has been years since I've read it.
New page! and another clue that Pinter is actually surprisingly well-traveled. Here's to hoping that on the next page, the other guy asks "How have you come to travel so far afield?" and Pinter will say "well it's kind of a funny story" and we get a FLASHBACK
I'm reminded of the fact that webcomics that are telling a long story tend to be very slow to read in weekly installments.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Weeeeell... what's the betting that's Etan's wife, Tanome?
Yeah, there are a couple of webcomics that I decided to put aside for awhile so I could binge them instead of getting the story in dribs and drabs, and this is one of them.

The placeholder image is gone! The new website has been launched, and I think we'll be getting new updates soon.
