Not going to lie, yesterday's comic had me worried there was about to be a huge revelation but then today's managed to make things nice and worse.

There is a Plants vs Zombies joke in there somewhere.

Since Pete said that this sequence was originally planned as a goofball side-trip, it's unlikely anything drastic is going to happen to the main characters.

Aww... I was hoping Marco would make it out of this. I mean, sure, he's dead, but so is Bill, and he seems like a pretty chill dude.

What is this comic about?

Oh goodness... isn't that a loaded question. More or less, it's about the wacky adventures of a slacker webdesigner who lives in an increasingly bizarre world. I don't think Pete Abrams started out intending much depth to it, but much like Cerebus the Aardvark, that depth has been added through the years. Unlike Cerebus, it's retained a great deal of its wackiness and the creator isn't apenuts insane.

I'm just glad he dealt with the new flower-sprouts immediately, instead of leaving them for years as a dangling plot-thread.

Isn't the strip wrapping up soon?

So Pete said some months ago. Of course, he said the same thing in 2007...

Today's strip just complicates my internal debate as to how much Torg actually plans moments like these vs happens to luck into them.

Pete neglected to add a link to the bottom for reference to Gwynn's "slightly" radioactive childhood home. Or has this been referenced before?

I'm pretty sure that Gwynn remembers who ZHOAS is, but it's one of those secrets she hasn't shared with the rest. of them.

Am I the only one who thinks Torg + Black-Ops Elves are a match made in heaven? This will be fun.

What's the trope for lazy artist pulling retrocon filler crap?

Weirdly enough, this was actually planned and foreshadowed since the reporter did mention anonymous tip before new panels were added ._.; And the place was abandoned mentioned being abandoned...

I don't doubt he had this reveal planned from the start, but there had to be a better, less forced, way to do it.

The trope we're seeing here is Once More, with Clarity. It's not a sign of laziness or forced retreads: it's a trope in which scenes where we think we got the full story are shown to us again with info we deliberately weren't shown before now revealed.

Not the first time the friends have betrayed each other but apparently Riff feels this will be the last one.

New deadline for Sluggy Freelance no longer being a daily webcomic is August 2017. I have to admit, this seems as likely to me as a permanent Terry Funk retirement, but I guess it is possible.

Well, that's a rapid shift of emotions... he gets a dinner with his wife. We see the pizza-box, which suggests that she might have eaten some of the literal heart-attack-in-a-box pizza that they'd discussed earlier. Then we see she's leaving him. Then, we see she's Sasha...

Wow, Pete. Just, wow.
