Hello, tropers, and welcome to my first ever online roleplay. I’ve had a history of playing in online roleplays, but never have I made one before! This is also an interest check.

Setting/Plot

Every day, humanity watches, plays, reads, and enjoys all of the stories that are given to them. Well, what if I told you that every single one of them actually exists in a different dimension.

The creator of most of these realities is a being called Azathoth. Sure, lesser deities have sprung up over the years and created their own universes, but Azathoth was ultimately the creator of the Omniverse (a term for all the realities in existence invented by Marvel comics.) Azathoth was a malevolent being, enjoying the suffering and torment of his own creations. This caused a revolt against the twisted being by the lesser deities, mainly started by one Yog-Sothoth, who is the personification of the Omniverse. The lesser deities stripped him most of his power and sent him to sleep, forever circled by creatures that play lulling music. Or so we thought…

One day, the creatures that played the music that kept Azathoth asleep decided to take a break. Azathoth awoke and swiftly killed them all. Lusting for revenge on the gods that stole his power, he gathered a team of villains from all over the realities to conquer the Omniverse once again.

Hearing of this, Yog-Sothoth called upon the heroes of all realities and pleaded for them to help in his cause. In return, Yog would place duplicates of the heroes in their stead. Yog-Sothoth’s next choice...your characters!

At first, the location that Yog and Azathoth place our heroes and villains on normal Earth. Some have milked on being famous there. Others have hid their identities. And yet others have been training the population to get ready for a Chaos attack. The exception to this rule is OCs from modern Earth, who experience no transportation at all. More universes will open up over time.

Appearance of Azathoth

Appearance of Yog

Dos and Don'ts

Do feel free to play as many characters as you think you can handle.

Do listen to the TV Tropes rules.

Do feel free to place villains who don’t agree with Azathoth’s methods in Yog-Sothoth’s faction. And vice versa with heroes!

Do nerf characters that are over Super Weight 3. The IC explanation is that Azathoth weakens them.

Don’t place any curse words or other content soft PG-13 or over in your posts. Due to a thriving community of underage roleplayers, I don’t want them scared away by mature content. What I mean by soft PG-13 is Pirates of the Caribbean level content.

Don’t use telekinesis, mind-control, mind-reading, omnipotence, immortality, or seamless invisibility. If you are planning to use a character with any of these traits, take these powers out! Excepting invisibility and telekinesis, which will be handled case by case. Again, the IC explanation is that Azathoth weakens them.

Don’t be a munchkin! Godmodding, autohit, autododging and other things that would instantly allow you to win a fight are not allowed.

Don’t be afraid to make a poor decision or get hurt IC once in a while.

Don’t use characters over 20 feet tall. If you want to use a character that is, shrink them.

Don't play real life characters or religious figures except if they are represented in fiction. For example, you can't use the actual Buddha, but you can use the Buddha from Journey to the West.

Make sure to put the version of the continuity your character is taken from at the very end of your History composition if your character is part of a franchise which employs these alternate “histories”. Not the most original premise for a crossover RP, but I like your enthusiasm!

Character name: Charlotte E. "Shirley" Yaeger

Source: Strike Witches

Faction: Yog-Sothoth

Appearance: Glamorous Shirley

Personality: Outgoing, friendly and ridiculously relaxed about even things such as war, she is nonetheless very passionate when it comes to matters to speed. Hey, she broke both the land speed record and the sound barrier back home. It's to be expected. Is also a bit of a flirt.

Powers: As a Witch, she has the ability to fly (normally with her Striker Unit, which slot over her legs, though she can use brooms too) and the ability to conjure up blue magic shields. These shields can stop small arms fire pretty much indefinitely, and can withstand a few explosions as well, though it can only be deployed in one direction (usually the same way she is facing).

Skills: Is a skilled mechanic and occasional inventor, being able to repair and maintain a large variety of machinery, as well as put together new ones in a jiffy if so inclined (though she does not do the latter often). Is also an experienced soldier with all the combat skills it entails.

Equipment:

Striker Unit: Enables her to fly. Based upon the North American P-51 Mustang

M1918 Browning Automatic Rifle: Uses experimental 40-round magazine

History: Before her enlistment in the Liberion Witch Corps, she was a motorcycle racer who broke the land speed record on the Bonneville Salt Flats using a motorcycle she modified herself. After breaking several more speed records, she enlisted into the Liberion military to challenge herself further. Therafter, after rising through the ranks, she got transferred to the 501st Joint Fighter Wing, which played a critical role in the permanent destruction of two major Neuroi Hives.

By the way, I would advise you also put a Skills section in your character sheet template, to insert all the non-supernatural/sci-fi abilities a character might have.

Character name: Lena Oxton aka. Tracer

Source: Overwatch and Heroes of the Storm

Faction: Yog-Sothoth

Appearance: Tracer

Personality: (Mostly taken from wiki.) Lena’s alignment on the moral scale is Chaotic Good. She is a very energetic and cheeky girl, loving a good joke and giggling during battle. She's often quick witted and displays great affection and even insight towards her friends. She is extremely fearless and determined, not being afraid to take chances and being enthusiastic about discovering new things and places, according to her reaction to meeting all the different characters and seeing all the sights of the Nexus in her trailer for Heroes of the Storm.

Powers: N/A.

Equipment:

  • Pulse Guns: These guns fire out bursts of blue plasma. The plasma blasts are pretty weak, as they only pack the hurting power of an especially weak punch. The guns’ real power comes from firing a barrage of them at once and despite their mediocre hurting power on skin, they can puncture hard materials like metal and rocks after a time (I can’t put a time here, as different materials require different amounts of blasts to break.) The guns do require reloading after every 40 shots.

  • Chronal Accelerator: The device that keeps Lena anchored to her current time and is attached to her chest, the Chronal Accelerator allows her to speed up and rewind her own time.
    • Blink: Tracer teleports fowards 4 feet. This ability can be used three times in rapid succession. Afterwards, she has to wait for the move to recharge. The recharge time takes 6 seconds. A weakness of this move is that it cannot go through walls, even though it is a teleportation move.
    • Recall: Tracer teleports to the location she was at 3 seconds ago. This move refills all of her ammo. The Nexus had weakened this ability by making it lose the health manipulation from the original game. This has carried over to this Tracer as well as another weakness: The move doesn't remove debuffs affecting her, such as being poisoned. The move's cooldown is 26 seconds.

  • Pulse Bomb: Tracer throws a bomb that sticks to any surface or opponent it lands on. After a few seconds, the bomb explodes, not killing the opponent, but still inflicting high damage on them. This ability is slowly charged over time by dealing damage to enemies.

Skills: She once piloted aircraft for Overwatch’s experimental aircraft division.

History: In the world of Overwatch, a robot uprising known as the Omnic Crisis spurred the United Nations into creating a peacekeeping agency called Overwatch. Overwatch ended up successfully saving the world from the Crisis. After this, Overwatch became an international agency of heroes, until 20 years later, when public criticism of the organization was at an all time high. This criticism, combined with the destruction of Overwatch’s Swiss headquarters in a fight between Soldier: 76 and Reaper, ultimately caused the organization to crumble. Until, however, it returned due to Winston, a talking gorilla scientist who was part of Overwatch, initiated an agent recall. Tracer immediately responded. The two went on to restore Overwatch as a vigilante organization that went on to engage the terrorist organization Talon in several battles.

Then the Nexus, a powerful trans-dimensional storm that sucks people from many different universes into its own warped reality, interfered with the status quo and placed Lena within it. After many exploits within the universe of the Nexus, Yog-Sothoth visited the Nexus and asked Tracer to help him in his fight against Azathoth and his forces. She accepted and was brought to modern Earth.

Her personal history takes place before Overwatch fell within the first paragraph. Lena was a pilot for Overwatch's experimental aircraft division who was assigned to test the Slipstream, which was a teleporting fighter designed by Overwatch. But during its first flight, the aircraft's teleportation matrix malfunctioned, and it disappeared. Oxton was recovered later, but had been inflicted with chronal disassociation as a result. She drifted out of physical and non-physical form, not remembering anything of these disappearances. Winston invented the chronal accelerator to keep Tracer's molecules stable, curing the chronal disassociation.

This has been translated into a equally fierce loyalty to Azathot, who promised personnaly that he would make sure that the order would prosper when he'll gain control over the multiverse. He hates traitors above all else, wich push him to attack them without paying attention to the battlefield. When he's not in battle, he can't stop praising constantly his beloved order to his allies with a quasi-religious fervor.

Powers: None.

Equipment: Nines's armor is very sturdy, capable of resisting assault from a wookie's bare hands. His helmet is equipped with air filters several specialised poison filter that he has to activate manually, integral polarized lenses, communications and targeting systems. One day, one of his comrade defected from the order. Nines felt personnaly betrayed and sworn to slay the traitor himself. He wouldn't have to wait for long. When his squad was sent to the planet Takodana to retrieve a map leading to a legendary Jedi master, he met with him. Blinded by rage, he relentlessly attacked him until another rebell shot him with his blaster. He would have died if not for Azathoth summoning him.

Character name: Rocket Raccoon and Groot

Source: Guardians of the Galaxy

Faction: Yog-Sothoth

Appearance: Rocket is an anthropomorphic raccoon wearing a space suit and with a robotic implant sticking out of his back. Groot is a 10+ feet tall sentient plant who resembles a humanoid mass of roots and branches.

Personality: Rocket is wise-cracking and sarcastic. He appears to only care about money, but he has a soft spot for his partner, Groot. He loves to fight, sometimes overcome with joy when he gets to shoot things with his guns. He's sensitive about his appearance, and will lose his temper if called any name that that implies he's a creature or a monster.

Groot is unable to speak in any normal language, and can only say "I am Groot." His words do have meaning, though only Rocket can understand him. He is much more friendly and compassionate than his partner. He is normally calm, but is very, very defensive of anyone he considers a friend. He is a bit dumb, often doing things impulsively without considering the consequences.

Powers: Groot's plant-like physiology allows him to grow/shrink at will and regenerate his wounds quickly. He also has super strength.

Equipment: Between the two of them, pretty much their only equipment are some guns and bounty hunting equipment (such as a net made of hard-light for capturing wanted criminals).

Skills: Rocket is a tech/weapons expert and a skilled marksman. He can figure out how to work machinery almost as fast as he can look at it, and can build gadgets out of scrap parts. He is also a decent pilot when it comes to space ships.

When Universes Collide is now officially cancelled. I am on quite a lot of R Ps and RP sites, such as Pandora (I'm Inferno on there), Omniverse (I'm Queen Glory on there), and another TV Tropes RP called Frontier Code 9 (I'm Oscar Mike there). This was a difficult decision but I do not want to overwhelm myself with so many R Ps at once. So goodbye.

Mods, you can lock this post and the IC thread.
