[up][up][up] Top Gun Overshoot, Top Gun Braking Maneuver, Braking Top Gun Style, Top Gun Forced Overshoot, Top Gun Air Brake, Maverick Maneuver (or maybe Mav Maneuver)?

I even like I'll Hit The Brakes He'll Fly Right By, at least for a fun redirect.

[up] It at least gives context.

I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.

I made a single proposition rename crowner here since some expressed opposition to a rename. If that is found to be unnecessary, we can go right to alternative titles.

Bump.

Is all the talk about real life manouvers in the description really necessary? The trope is about all kinds of vehicles, but more than two thirds of the description is dedicated to flight manouvers, it gives a wrong impression.

^ I don't think it is, but given the source of the name that the emphasis is on aerial maneuvers isn't surprising.

Given the support for a rename, there is now an alternative titles crowner for this trope here. Feel free to add names as you see fit.

Brake Dodging sounds like literally dodging brakes, rather than using the breaks to dodge. Makes me thinking of swerving to avoid someone in front of you who stops suddenly.

Also added the current redirect, Dodge by Braking, to the crowner. Not very sexy, maybe, but at least it's clear.

I'm trying to think of something with Negative Acceleration in it, but I can't come up with anything else.

Top Gunned was swapped for its former redirect Dodge by Braking and the wicks were fixed (aside from an artifact one). There are also now notes about the rename on the Renamed Tropes page and in the renamed tropes thread. There was no discussion to move that I could find.

I felt like I might have rushed this a bit though, so feel free to check my work on the rename.
