The Wanderer uses skills derived from the Shiren the Wanderer series. The official site shows a skill that throws a rock at an odd angle, a skill that deals more damage to animals, a skill that tunnels through walls, and the Burst Skill, which removes all enemies from the room it's used in and sends them to other rooms. A Famitsu scan from a while back also showed the Wanderer using "Kamaitachi," a skill that hits the space in front of the user and the adjacent spaces on either side; using number pad notation, using the skill while facing north would hit 7, 8, and 9, while using it facing north-east would hit 8, 9, and 6. I believe the Landsknecht also has a skill that works like this.
i like that they use the EO 4 design for female (and possibly male?) swordsman. thats easily my favourite one.
The male and female designs are both from 4, none of the classes mix and match designs from different games, unless you count the female Protector's redesign. But I agree, Bandana-Landsknecht is my favorite design for that class. I'm conflicted about the colors though; I like her second color for the green hair, but the colors of her clothes feel weird and unbalanced somehow... But she still has green hair.
i like all the color schemes (its nice that they added an additional 2 scheme in exchange for there only being one design per gender), but i honestly cant decide if i like the first or the 2nd the best.
the 2nd is the one i used in EO 4 tho, so i'd hazard a guess and say i like that one the most...but yeah it does feel like the first one has the best balance of colors.
Today, I finished my second playthrough of The Drowned City. The first time, I went the Deep City route, so this time I did the Armoroad route. I was going to complain about how horrible the final boss of the Armoroad route is, but then I had my Zodiac learn Volt Prophecy and chuckled in smug satisfaction.
i did the armoroad route first, followed by the deep city and true route...
and oh god, i hated the deep city route bosses... i made sure to finish the true route with armoroad bosses.
Dem English trailers doe?
By the way, should I post the English trailers? It seems to be the same thing, but with English text.
Edit: Release date is April 7 of this year.

Just so everyone knows, the first run copies of ''Etrian Mystery Dungeon'' come with "visual books" in addition to the CDs.◊ The sample pages show things like class artwork, skill trees, and background art.
Edit: Also, why is Etrian Mystery Dungeon not in italics? Are italics broken?
Edit Edit: Apparently I just didn't understand how italics are supposed to work.

Two trailers were released today on Gematsu for Etrian Mystery Dungeon. Both had to do with D.O.E.s and how they worked.
So they're essentially FO Es that are there for climbing up the stairs and destroying towns. Then you've gotta establish a squad stationed on a specific floor.
I think this is pretty cool how you've got to fight against them like that, but I hope they only show up occasionally. If they didn't, then I would have stop what I'm doing and focus on keeping it from destroying town. I guess this also explains the other adventurers we've been seeing in the labyrinth.
I think the best part about this is that the first three games in the Etrian Odyssey series each had a quest where FO Es would come up from the lower floors and you had to fight them to defend the town. So these DOE fights are just like that. It's a little thing to preserve the feeling of Etrian Odyssey, even when the gameplay is completely different.
Guess who's putting up songs from the soundtrack?
Remember how the English site for Etrian Mystery Dungeon was a piece of crap? Well, now it's not. It's more like the Japanese site now, with all of the class pages and videos and information, but in English. And apparently someone at ATLUS USA thought that calling a class Prince/Princess was too long and/or awkward, so they are now called Sovereigns.
i am completely fine with that.
I suppose they picked 'Sovereign' since it's unisex. I also personally think it sounds more badass than 'prince' or 'princess.'
The games also don't define your characters for you; headcanon is part of the experience. So Sovereign works better because it's less specific.
I thought it was because of the equipment icon problem. Like, Protector and Prince(ss) both start with P, so Sovereign would be a sensible choice.
Regardless, the gunner's class video has been posted and in the video (around 0:17), you can see that there's a total of 25 character slots. I'm only saying this because I've seen people say that there's only 10. I've also seen someone suggest that you may unlock more as you go down.
I think you were confusing classes with character slots. 10 is the number of classes in the game.
On earlier vids, like the Runemasters, you can pause around the :16-17 mark and see a message along the lines of "This adventurer is registered. Guild members: 6 Slots left: 4" That's where the concern was coming from.
But it's good to see that more openings become available over time! I've always packed my guild full of characters, so the thought of a ten adventurer limit was really bothering me...
While I was distracted by Monster Hunter 4, March 5th arrived, which means Etrian Mystery Dungeon is out in Japan right now. That probably doesn't mean anything particularly special to anyone here, but at least the Japanese site has some music, and I'm gonna put it here:
Etrian Odyssey III boss theme (AKA the best one)

WAKE UP NERDS
WE ETRIAN TIME NOW
I would've said something earlier, but a different game I wanted was announced. I should try to finish up EO 2 ASAP, now. From what I've been hearing from 4chan, the HP on some of the bosses was geared towards the Fafnir Knight. That kind of worries me, but it also excites me since I think I might be able to do a Classic run, transfer them into a Story Run, then mop the floor with my retired characters.

kinda worried about untold 2's dlc.
I've heard people speculate that it will include it, which is why the price tag is $50 instead of $40. I don't think this is very plausible since Persona Q was also $50 (digital pricing) and I don't think that had DLC included. There might be something there that I don't know about, but that's my counter-point.
If we get DLC, I expect the DLC to be roughly the exact same: all of the DLC offered to the Japanese at a total of about $25. Either that, or at a total of something like $15. I wish DLC never touched this series to be honest.
I never knew Marioguy subclassed to be a ninja!
