At worst, the School of the Undefeated of the East will have a new student.
P.S. Victory Gundam's music is freaking awesome.
Neither goony beard-men nor rainbow-haired she-twinks will stand in the way of my dreams!Has anything been said about Gundam Origins at all? I'm a tad worried it may have been the victim of some internal restructuring or something. D:
These are the words that shall come from my mouth. I shall be known for speaking them.To answer a question of mine from several pages ago, someone has continued translating Gundam The Origin.
These are the words that shall come from my mouth. I shall be known for speaking them. What a coincidence, I just watched that episode yesterday.
That's for the PS 3? Those graphics look kinda dated.
What's precedent ever done for us?Haven't Gundam games always been that way? They've never really been known to be polished, top of the line experiences.
These are the words that shall come from my mouth. I shall be known for speaking them. Not the Extreme Vs series, they were updated to feature PS 3 era graphics.
And I've got Dynasty Warriors Gundam 3 on my 360, and even that is more polished.
What's precedent ever done for us?From what I've heard the gameplay looks pretty neat though; like a Third Person shooter but with Gundams.
Honestly, I'd like to see Project Aces take a crack at a Gundam game sometime, especially since the Ace Combat brand looks to be on the chopping block after ACAH failed to meet expectations.
These are the words that shall come from my mouth. I shall be known for speaking them.BTW, about to start Unicorn; what do y'all recommend, dub or sub? I usually listen to dubs because that's what I'm used to; but a seiyu I like is in the sub for this. But comparing the two, which is better?
These are the words that shall come from my mouth. I shall be known for speaking them.Dub's not the absolute best I've heard, but I quite like it anyway. If that's what you're used to, go for it.
What's precedent ever done for us?If you're comfortable with the dub, go for it. After all, it's all about providing the most enjoyable viewing experience possible. And if it turns out you don't like it, you can always switch to subs at the press of a button.
Unicorn's dub is pretty good, but I can't stand Steve Staley's voice as Banagher Links (sounds too whiney in my opinion.) Anyway, some Gundam series are meant to be seen dubbed (like 00, 0080, G, and SEED) and others subbed (like 08th MS Team, Unicorn, Zeta, and the original Gundam). But really, it's all down to personal opinion by the end of the day.
Watching the first episode of Unicorn only reinforces something I've begun to notice about later UC stuff; it becomes way too much of a soap box for Tomino's outlook on things and the other story elements suffer because of it. I know Unicorn isn't actually done by Tomino but I can tell that its trying to capture that feel. I dunno how to describe it properly, but it just is weighed down by so much artifice of this spacenoid rhetoric we're supposed to accept as a given. To me that kinda saps the naturalism out of the piece and just really is an unrelatable Aesop, as opposed to 'war isn't a game' from 0080 and 'the enemy can be people too' from 08th MS team.
I mean, I'm enjoying it as a piece of UC Gundam-ness, but so far it seems to lack the grounded feel of MSG or anything to really set it apart like 0080 or 08th MS.
These are the words that shall come from my mouth. I shall be known for speaking them. There's also the problem of this whole plot being a moot point since we know that shit like Cosmo Babylonia and the Zanscare Empire still happen, meaning the whole Laplace Box deal upending the social order concept amounts to nothing.

These are the words that shall come from my mouth. I shall be known for speaking them.As someone who prefers dubs, is there really a point in watching the dub of Gundam Unicorn now? I mean, with Bandai Entertainment cancelling all future releases, doesn't that pretty much mean there won't be a dub of future episodes?
Bandai Visual is the one licensing Unicorn, not Bandai Entertainment.

These are the words that shall come from my mouth. I shall be known for speaking them.@Scherzo 09: So you only watched the first episode?
I'm reading this because it's interesting. I think. Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot, over.I watched only the fourth episode.
Lazy and pathetic.Got distracted, will watch some more today. I just am getting that 'feeling' about it.
These are the words that shall come from my mouth. I shall be known for speaking them.Hell he is a Kamille expy.... almost completely.
However I think his voice is too deep. (his Japanese voice is pretty decent.. I like Ichika)

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!If anything, I feel that this is one of the most balanced Gundam shows so far in terms of viewpoints, giving equal weight to Federation and Neo Zeon characters and portraying neither of them as absolutely right or wrong. The overall aesop seems to be, in true Gundam tradition "war is never justified, but sometimes it's unavoidable that you fight for a cause".
But how can he resist the charm of Super Asia?
