... Well, now my last post just looks silly.

Apparently what happens is Raidou changes the timeline so the nuclear war of SMTI doesn't happen, resulting in a lighter, but still demon-infested, world that the Persona and DS games (and ...If!) take place in.

Pretty much. Some still insist Raidou XL changed the future when everything he says, including the fact that he'll wander as a lost soul forever for not succeeding, says he doesn't change things like Raidou did.

Breaking News: Even On Cycle Eight, Beelzebub Still Really Hard.

in my experience few endgame bosses can stand up to the hindu gods and a giant dick on a torture chariot.

so just go give beelzebub the 'D' and you should be fine.

(then again if you're playing on hard mode im not sure anything works.)

Beelzebub's hard because he's got a really wide spread of skill types. Most of the other bosses have small enough pools of elemental skill types that you can really mitigate their danger but Bub's got everyone's number at some point.

Beelzebub also has Megidolaon and cannot be hit with guns.

Managed to beat both him and Astaroth, who's significantly easier since he has less elements to cover. This was also really the first time I made major use of Charge and Concentrate; they're nothing to sneeze at in the least!

Whoa what? It took you eight playthroughs to play around with those? Concentrate was so good for me when I did my playthrough.

I guess I didn't think two turns for one move was worth it. I was wrong. tongue

The boost is consistently somewhere in the neighborhood of x2.5, so in the action economy it actually does have a lot of value- You're getting at least 50% more damage in than if you just used the skill twice.

Interesting fact: despite Bonus Bosses being infamous for being often stronger than Final Bosses, Lucifer is actually, from a statistical standpoint, far more impressive than Beelzebub. He's ahead in every stat, most by quite a bit, and has nearly double Bub's HP.

The random-encounter versions of the Fiends, by contrast, are legitimately above the final bosses.

The great thing about the press turn system is that you can charge and then attack in the same turn, so it becomes a great way to nuke random enemies.

I'm definitely going to try it on the Ancient of Days too, that asshole.

If you have Masakado's Shadow, Uriel knowing Kannuki Throw and both physical charge moves, and a lot of Chakra Pots to burn, you can do what I like to do in any Ancient of Days fight:

  • Use Guardian's Eye to make sure Ancient of Days never gets a turn, recharging Masakado's Shadow with Chakra Pots
  • Have Uriel use Dark Energy and Charge
  • If possible, give Uriel the Smirk status
  • Unleash Kannuki Throw and hope it hits a whole bunch of times for full catharsis.

So guess who gave me a harder fight than both Beelzebub and Astaroth this time? The four-on-four match with the Devas for the last "hope-gathering" quest. I usually find them pretty hard, but they were really bringing it this time for some reason.

I don't remember if it was this thread or Persona thread, but someone mentioned Araki and Kaneko interview. I ran into it again, here part 1 and part 2.

TIL Raphael can Brand himself if Stigmata Strike hits a demon with Repel Phys, like the Rangda I used against him.

Finally bought Apocalypse! Probably won't be able to play for a while, though. What are the bonuses for importing IV save data? Should I try getting all the endings first? Which I was doing, until a Fiend showed up and now I want to get the Neutral exclusive Fiend while I'm on this path... I really need to go back to that game...

You get lore entries on several topics for importing any IV data at all, and each route has a gift tied to completing it on the imported file.

I sure said that!

Whoa, I managed to beat the individual Archangel fights before taking on Merkabah. Doing the Gabby-Mike double-team at level 77 was Ancient of Days-tier hard. I haven't fought Merkabah just yet but I'm predicting the whole will be rather less than the sum of its parts. tongue

Holy crap, beat the Ancient of Days before Lucifer! This was the lowest level I've ever done it, and also IIRC the first time I did it without Antichthon.
