Sooo, it takes place after Neutral ending? Can anyone also remind me when IV took place? I think it was in twenties (and this one is in thirties), but I'm not sure.
It started out as an enhanced remake before becoming an original game.

I'm glad that's really Navarre. He was a prick, but not a big enough one to deserve going completely nutters.
Death, the solution to all life's problems?
i. hear. a. sound.Careful son of man that's White mentality.
It's angel mentality too when they are in Devil Children.
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.Persona villains usually have that going for them, too, in various ways.

I sure said that!Perhaps this game can finally give Navarre a chance at character development.
I feel like he got more development than anyone else in the cast...

Watch me destroying my countryWell, like I said earlier, he fleshes out the setting pretty well by showing the disconnect between Luxurors and Casualries.
But then he goes and gets scarred by Alraune which is a major Break the Haughty moment and buys his way out of the Samurai. Then a later quest sees him go to Tokyo to flee the demons and eventually accept Flynn.
Considering everyone else is basically a Static Character (aside from automatically Jumping Off the Slippery Slope as soon as alignment lock happens), that's something. Who else really grew during the game? Nozomi? She talks about how she's tired of being weak and wants to get stronger, but that's about it, becoming Lady Danu aside. That's not so much her growing as growth being thrust upon her.

It always seemed more like his fragile little mind snapped and he's constantly in BSOD mode afterwards. Hell, when you get the quest that lets you see him again, I don't think he even recognizes you.

Scratch Malsum and the monkey side quest. I'm glad I did it this time; it was fun.
They better bring back the Terminal Guardian for Final, he was a riot.
I'm most intrigued by the mention of the Firmament still being up. That makes me think it's either an Alternate Continuity or, of all things, a sequel to the Chaos ending.
Well since the Chaos ending the angel high command is gone and the summary itself mentions how the angels themselves are part of this Humans at the bottom and demon/angels at the top food chain, it's likely that they are thinking for themselves and proving themselves little better than the demons they looked down upon.

Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession. It also looks like the big brown demon is a mandatory party member. Pascal-Cerberus type Crutch Character, maybe?
If the Terminal Guardian comes back, I hope that every one of his costumes comes with a CG image. Complete with sparkles.
I wonder what that brown demon is supposed to be. One that actually has roots from mythology, or something more "original generation" like Nemissa?

Well it looks like Merkabah is returning, so I don't think it's a straight sequel to the Chaos route. Or maybe it is and he just rezzed himself.
They do always come back.
EDIT: Apparently, the brown guy's name is "Daguza." That ring any mythology bells?

I wonder why the new cast looks so young, relatively.
'Cause in post-apocalyptic Tokyo, it's the lucky ones who grow old.
According to our new page on the game, it takes place 15 years after the disaster. IV vanilla was 25 years after.
Despite Navarre's ghost being in this one.
I'm confused.
Technically speaking Navarre shouldn't even be born yet. Maybe some time travel/alt worlds messery is going on?
This is what you get when you power your city with black holes.
They keep using that word "disaster". What makes us so certain that the disaster refers to the demon invasion? I wouldn't call that a disaster, I'd call it an apocalypse.
Or poachers!
