Devil Survivor always felt complete when I finished it. The new content just makes me want to watch a video of those 8th Days to see what I'm missing out on.

Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.

Hmmm... Okay. Did you also have more fun playing Devil Survivor? Did it have better writing?

well in desu 1 i didnt feel like breaking my ds in two untill day 5

something i only noticed a short while ago long after i finished desu 1, is that the music is a~maze~ing and far far FAR outdoes desu 2.

especially last decision <3

as for writing...

its hard to say which is better. the games are so similar...yet so vastly different i cant really figure out a place to compare the writing.

I'd take Devil Survivor 2's music over the first game's any day. Endless buttrock and power chords just ain't for me.

Well Devil Survivor has it doses of awesome and the easiet way to get a New Game Plus is to get Yuzu's ending seeing that you do not need to get points to carry over everything.

I like that in Devil Survivor 2 you can die in the first battle by not wanting to survive[lol]

Writing looks like it's going to be the tie-breaker for me...

Devil Survivor 1 is excellent, no doubt. I like both games, but the first one does a much better job at exploring its scenario. It lives up to the "Survivor" in the title, since a lot of time is spent considering how to survive in a demon apocalypse scenario.

And yes, the music is good.

Haha! There's a band called "Sword of Justice" that has an album dedicated to covers of the older Megami Tensei games' music. I don't just mean SMTI or II. I mean Digital Devil Story Megami Tensei music. Some standouts include Daedaleus, a dungeon theme; SMTII's battle theme; and the first game's overworld theme. There's a bunch of other music there too, like a remix of the recurring Ginza theme, and boss music. Take a look, and post any favorites.

Wow... I always liked SMT 2's battle theme... but that's just awesome.

wow

you know, the old smt music (smt 1 and 2 basically) never really seemed to do anything for me, not even ginza

but their cover is pretty damn good <3

I think I have a bad rom of SMT 1. I've fought Ozawa's skeleton thing over and over, and I can't trigger the scene for the Heroine's public execution.

uh...could you elaborate a little more on the events up till then?

the order can be a little tricky and unfortunately i dont quite recall without something to jog my memory.

but then again, having to fight a boss multiple times does indeed sound a bit...suspicious.

Devil Survivor seems kinda cheap to me. I keep failing the missions where you have to rescue someone because three or four demons decide it would be cool to make a beeline straight for the people I'm trying to rescue. And then murder them before i'm halfway across the map.

Suits my state of mind right now...

You explore Shinjuku to try and investigate where to find the Resistance. Unfortunately, Yuriko has also been stalking you. When you enter the Disco and use the bar matchbook to enter and speak with the Resistance members, Yuriko captures the Heroine. Since then, I've heard Gotou's address, and I've fought Ozawa's spartoi several times.

uh...yeah, you shouldnt be able to fight ozawa's baykok more than once, and if you cant access the execution event after beating it, there is definately a problem.

[up][up]Took me a second to realize who you were talking about since I know her by another name... Yeah, that sounds like a bug. Check the various Let's Plays to see what they do, otherwise find a new ROM.

@Bleidd: I used to have a lot of trouble with the escort missions, then I learned to really use the demon's racial abilities. Give at least one character a demon Devil Speed and put them as close to your civilians as possible. Make sure that someone else has an Avian, and maybe give someone a demon with Bind. Yuzu has a higher speed stat but low move, give her Devil Speed to fling yourself forward as often as possible, then follow up with the Flight user to hold enemies nearer your starting position back, and use the Bind-er to keep pursuit in check.

So. I told my friend who I buy eBay games through to get Devil Survivor. I paid him.

And it ran out of time despite having 7 copies left.

Why does this always happen to me?

Oh, I don't know, that sounds petty.

...Wait, that sounds exactly like SMTII YHWH. [lol]

Anyway, went digging around Sword of Justice's work some more, and holy wow their take on the SMTI boss theme is rockin'.

NVM, I found out you had to go in to one (of many) bars to talk to the Resistance leader.

that triple wave of enemies was so cash.

So I'm playing Devil Survivor Overclocked, and am currently gearing up for Beldr. Holy wow this game is a lot harder than I remember, though that could be due to the fact that I finished the original two years ago and have a near-perfect file on that. It might not even be that the game is so difficult but that it takes longer for the party to come into power. I think this is a reaction to Devil Survivor 2's much faster pace. By day 3 there you'd had almost all of your party characters in the party and had defeated two major bosses. DS 1 isn't structured like that; the bosses are days apart and then BEL RUSH on day 7.

Thought this was cool; someone did a piano version of DDS 2's final boss theme(also Reach Out To The Truth, Fear of God, and two versions of the Velvet Room theme):
