I've heard that some people think True Demon is canon for Nocturne, but that was due to a cameo in IMAGINE which, as I understand it, had quite a few plot holes so people are also skeptical.

i'd go for freedom.

smt is generally fond of keeping a status quo.

any option that returns the world to the way it was is inevitably going to be the most popular or likely to be canon. in the few cases where continuity matters, at least.

I've always liked Freedom as the canon Nocturne ending. If only because TDE was added to the Maniac edition and I'd like to think that Atlus put the ending they wanted into the original.

Okay yeah, Red Rider's a doozy. Even with maximum buffed defense and the Powers put out of commission Terrorblade takes away pretty much half everyone's health. I gotta grind Skeleton Monk until he gets Prayer otherwise I'm screwed.

Also fused Matador for the heck of it. Makes a decent buffer.

Because I can never sit at a single game, I also downloaded Digital Devil Saga 1. Which are the story-mandated bosses I should look out for, because we all know it's there somewhere.

Camazotz can be pretty nasty. He likes forcing Force weaknesses on you and spamming Zan spells. Also Beast Eye.

Well I played Nocturne so none of that sounds particularly nasty.

I do know that apparently DDS is one of the easier games in the series, but I don't know if that's just because you can customize everyone or they legit turned stuff down compared to its predecessors.

A little of both. DDS's lack of difficulty comes from a lack of tough dungeons (final ones notwithstanding ((because fuck the Karma Tower and The Sun))) and the ability to permanently keep skills across 5-6 party members.

i dunno...i spent fucking forever in that motherfucking teleport maze in the 2nd game...

the game is generally easier on account of no "main character dies = game over" rule, some (or all?) instant kill replaced by half hp spells, and the general level of customization.

the 2nd game only slightly less so because there are no easy grinding spots so its more tedious to get the skills of note on everyone and the characters you were focusing on may become unavailable for a large portion of the game

Only Hama becomes half-HP spells. Mudo is one-hit-kill as usual.

Ironically Hama is actually more useful against random encounters because using it on a demon weak to it and fearing them pretty much guarantees a successful hunt.

Just saw this month's chapter of Demonic Gene. Looks like Smiley Flynn is going to descend on Mikado after getting seven mysterious lights and uses one to appear above the kingdom. Walter has sorta returned to normal as well, with cracks on his face coming from the eyes.

Also I plan on ordering Quantum Devil Saga soon.

Has anyone else ever wondered what the actual religious beliefs of the Order of Messiah are? I mean, is it basically identical to Christianity or what?

I'm under the impression that it's a hybrid of Catholicism and the more vitriolic Protestant sects. Lots of top-down organization, plus lots of xenophobia and assumptions of a great deal of moral superiority.

... So here's a question- Am I the only one who likes to name Raidou Kuzunoha XIV "Taro Yamada" for the sake of basically calling him John Smith?

I've never played the Raidou Kuzunoha games, sadly. Also, is there any way to actually get Yen easily in Soul Hackers near the start of the game? I've just finished the second Vision Quest involving the dark summoner guy.

... Y'know, I just had a thought. Supposing SMT V continues in the same sort of direction as SMT IV, I'd really like to see a sidequest chain involving a conflict between Tenkai and Dairokuten Maoh/Demon King.

macca in soul hackers: dismiss all summoned demons, go into dungeon or optional dungeon; kill shit for a while, leave dungeon; go to mag trader, sell ALL MAG; you should have quite a bit of money, though you'll run out quickly. shove it into a bank and it'll accumulate interest. not a whole lot but hey its extra.

and that is honestly the best way to build up money in soul hackers. demons are largely unnecessary outside of boss fights, so selling all your mag isnt that big a deal unless you plan to have all your demons out for entire dungeon (in which case even without selling it, it wont last.)

Shin Megami Tensei 4's Europe release is delayed until late October. I am less then thrilled, but I guess I understand and will just wait patiently.

I gave up on the game after the anniversary of its european confirmation. The reason I got a 3DS and it won't come out untill after I'm done with the console.

I'm just laughing at how much more of a trainwreck Atlus can make this. At this point, even 20 euros is too much for this game. Atlus, just give up and hand it to NISA.

So Tarsen is pretty much right that demons are useless outside of boss fights. I would like to add that outside of the first time through a dungeon, demons are useless. If you're visiting somewhere for the first time, you probably need demons for backup while exploring.

But for grinding for Magnetite to sell for Yen? You pretty much just need Nemissa, good guns for her and bandaid protagonist and to heal her if she runs out of MP. Oh, and I got Judah's COMP and his demons. Immediately fused a few of them for better demons.

I kept them around so they can could get revenge.
