Shin Megami Tensei Series

its not often i look at a minotaur and thing "woah, badass".

Reached the Valhalla Corridor (or rather "the brief demo of Valhalla that serves as the "town" between Daedalus and Bien)

No save point, no healing fountain, just shops and an old man who will teleport you back to Micon. Sigh.

Well, since I can use the elevator in Daedalus and know my way through the (longer than normal) bottom floor, it's more of a nuisance if anything, but still. Come on man.

Meanwhile, in Megami Tensei II, I snuck out of the shelter, went into the nearest town and picked up a sword, and then went back and killed zombie ass, then killed Nebiros.

...The sword was actually vital. MTII has this thing where enemies take more damage from swords or guns depending on what "type" of creature they are, and Nebiros, being a Haunt, hates swords. I tried without the sword and he kicked my butt (not as bad as the Minotaur did in MTI, but yeah. Swords)

More MTII progress: Recruited Orthrus, beat the Jabberwock (don't need no Vorpel Blade when Orthrus fang will do) made it to Tokyo Tower and recruited the Partner.

Also, recruited a bunch of demons and fused not one, but TWO Elements. Because triple fusion in this game is weird, and you need at least one Element to get anything that isn't a slime. Also, only GOOD alignment demons can be triple fused, which is...weird.

Also also, confirmed that it is indeed possible to piss off the Partner and get stuck with the Dark Hero.

Of note: Partner is supposedly protected by Izanami. Ooooh.

More Kyuyaku progress.

Beat Balam, got the Moon Pillar and the Water Seal. Went to Ginza.

...Ginza is a massively large network of tunnels. I need to find Suzuki Co for future reference but...wow there are a lot of tunnels. It connects to a bunch of other towns, of note are both of the ones controlled by the Devans, who I need to beat up to rescue Dark Hero's dumb girlfriend who, get this, left the shelter on her own to look for him. Idiot.

Also, I found graffiti from Asmodeus proclaiming about how he kidnapped Izanagi and Izanami and wants me to meet him 'beyond the Buddha statue'...but the graffiti is in Tokyo. Asmodeus is in the Expanse. I am not supposed to deal with Asmodeus until much later!

Also also, I got Naga and the Serpent Sword via an event, both of which are stupid powerful for this point in the game.

Where's Soul Hackers placed in the Mega Ten timeline?

after all the other devil summoner games.

soul hackers is a sequel to the original devil summoner; characters return from it.

i initially though the devil summoners timeline and the persona timeline was the same thing but apparantly not because it seems incredibly unlikely for soul hackers to take place in the same world persona does.

Soul Hackers apparently takes place during the events of Persona 2, which was (attempted to be) explained as the location being a super-sekrit experimental city of sorts.

KMT Progress: In MTI, I actually made it a ways into Bien and explored.

...Difficulty spike on some of them enemies though.

Nocturne Progress: Finally navigated through the most tedious floors in the game not involving Dante, and beat Baal Avatar. Fittingly, like with Noah, I killed her using the Demi-fiend and Magma Axis.

EDIT: The boss fight isn't the end of the segment. What kind of sadist would do that?

The save terminal at the fucking final boss is just an S-Terminal. Meaning, if you leave to heal or restock, surprise, you have to do the tedious Yosuga section of the dungeon over again!

They had to have known that was just tedious and annoying.

PS: The Hallels can fuck themselves. They were harder to deal with than Baal was.

Oh, man, I totally forgot about the S-Terminal situation.

And man, why are Ose and Flauros always so much more badass as enemies than as allies? I can't remember the last time either of 'em we more than mildly useful for when you can get them.

because ose wears a metal thong and flauros belongs in silent hill.

one is not in the mood to help you, and the other is a little preocuppied being some kind of weird god-thingy that dies almost immediately or...something.

Thank you so much. You have no idea on how much money I spent. I did get some nice demons out of it though.

I actually need to confirm something. My question is this: in the series, is YHWH... a) Created by humanity's collective willpower or... b) An actual god who existed before humans did and created them.

It's unclear and it's likely that the series gives conflicting answers.

I don't think you need the coffee beans one, but I'm pretty sure the Messiah's Tears one is mandatory.

It's not.

I've been playing the first Majin Tensei. Not as fun as the second one. Very little dialogue. I'm also not sure where the Hero is at cause I found the Heroine in a building in a place called Neo Tokyo. I'm currently at a stage where some Neutral(Yellow Demos on the map) are also fighting the Red Demons that work for Satan.

Also met Etienne. Have to say they needed to make artwork for him, cause he looks creepy and I think that it's due to the graphics rather than him.

Now I kinda want to see the manga since I've already read a doujin of Majin Tensei.

I keep forgetting to mention, I started Soul Hackers last week. Fun so far, but I'm definitely looking more forward to IV when it comes out in September. Level 10 or so and demon lady's possessed the Protagonist's friend whose name I don't remember.

I have a couple of demons as well. I think I just need to make time to play more of it.
