Raz nodded and walked o each of the challengers in turn, smacking them on the forehead with his palm. It didn't help the connection, but it was very cathartic. Once the network was up, he turned to the others. "I'll go with... whoever's not going with Naoto."

Mordecai said, "I will go with which ever group needs me the most." He didn't know anyone, so he couldn't make that call. Whoever actually knew everyone would decide where he went and that would be nice. He could survive on his own for a very long time...just not in this damn fog.

Jack drew his sword, which seemed to shine with a faint light against the suffocating darkness about them. He was glad that Naoto had vetoed the idea of splitting up, but less so that it had taken such a blatant threat to do it.
"Everyone, form a circle!" he said. "We cannot get involved in fights if we can help it. We will stay together and search for the exit. We move in formation. Naoto will tell us which way to go, unless someone sees the exit. Does everyone concur?"
