Craft had hung back earlier, bobbing and weaving to avoid the projectiles.

Seeing Divine Buster in action, he winced but made a mental note that her attacks seemed to be similar to the beams his laser rifle fired.

There's too many similarities between my tech and hers to be a coincidence. he mused.

He kept up a fine rate of fire, blue beam after blue beam streaking down the corridor.

Blink opened her eyes. The Jackal shield she'd stolen had worn down, a dangerous red color. Still mostly senseless, she struggled to get up. Blink's vision was blurry, and she was disoriented, unable to notice any fire coming her way.

Gordon fired a few more shots at several of the remaining Grunts.

Naoto reached out and grabbed Blink' pulling her behind cover. "Get down!" She shouted at the other girl as she fired a few shots at the covenant forces.

Blink shook her head as she was pulled into cover. Her vision cleared.

"Huh? What happened?" she asked.

Demon, you face your end!

-The Dullahan continues parrying the huge hammer, having no desire to kill anyone until his objective in the Challenge was clearly established. And what are these strange implements they wield that rain bright lights at him, leaving small creaters in his armor?-

-Lights...-

DIE!

-The hammer comes down.-

Rey scooted forward slightly, cringing, still staying under cover, trying to keep more or less in the middle of the others, firing off a couple more useless shots as he went.

"Because I can't risk someone overhearing what our conversation."

"I want to talk about the Nomads."

Yuuka skulked off with umbrella open towards the champions' group.

She stopped by near Rey and gave him a pitying look before walking behind them.

"Too much noise..." "Hmm? More?" She saw a bunch of ape-like creatures fighting a headless suit of armor in the distance.

...

-The coach drops Sterling.-

NOMADS.

In the Common Room, the air seemed to visibly warp for a few seconds.

So, I heard you had a little problem, Mr. Dresden.

The voice was fluid, seemingly changing all the time - however, one thing remained constant: the light-hearted tone, and the fact that the speaker sounded male.

Bowser reaches the group of Grunts and immediately punches one of them through a wall.

-The Dullahan grabs the hammer with his frre hand.-

Enough.

-He raises his sword hand. Suddenly, waves of purple energy flow from the the Brutes, leaving them feeling drained, and into the Dullahan, where they see the ornate armor healing itself of the craters and scorch marks left by their weapons.-

It... It can't be!

-The Brutes back off, mentally adding "vampire" to their list of griefs against the Earth's faceless armored warriors.-

Narumi was knocked out from the zapping and woke up after the Divine Buster. "Urg... That gotta hurt." Narumi said.

The air warped a second time in the common room, and with the sound of a droplet hitting still water out stepped what appeared to be a man in a grey cloak, teal glowing lines running up and down his clothes and his body. He looked directly at Harry, his gaze piercing.

Tsk! Don't you know it's rude to ignore people? the man said, his voice (the same as the one that had spoken mere minutes earlier, in fact) echoing in a vaguely unsettling matter.

-The Dullahan holds up the hammer and moves it around, checking its balance.-

A strange weapon...

-He swings out the hammer in a wide arc, his sword following. The Brutes jump back, seeing the demon wielding such a heavy weapon in one hand.-

But it may... come in useful.

"Are you one of... them?"

-Sterling picked herself up-

"Yes. The Nomads. They wronged you somehow, didn't they?"

YES. AND NO. WHAT DO YOU KNOW OF THEM?

The man laughed, which sounded vaguely like tinkling glass.

If by "them" you mean the Nomads, then yes, I am one of them. Now, I have a proposition for you... if you're interested. No fee at all! A subject like you is worth a million experiments.

"Miss Shirogane..." Blink groaned, holding her head. Despite her clearing vision, her skull was throbbing. "My head hurts..."

Gordon tossed a grenade out of cover, hoping to wipe out the remaining Covenant with it.

"Then stay behind cover. We can't have anyone dying." Naoto says. She didn't want to use her persona too much or she would be drained right from the beginning. Instead she continued to fire at them with her pistol.

Seeing the Grenade, Bowser made himself cover by lifting up part of the hallway to shield himself with.

"Precious little. What I do know is that two of them were here, in the town. One of them abducted Mr. Sanichigo. It's what they do, isn't it? Snatch people away for their own purposes."

-She looks up at the towering PE teacher-

"They snatched you, didn't they?"

I'm not one to immediately jump at a deal offered by someone almost infinitely more powerful than you. It tends to have some sort of catch. I'd been offered many and I'd turned them all down.

Well, not quite, but I'll not dwell on that. What is done is done.

"What are you offering, Nomad?"

Blink shook her head again. The pain was starting to clear up.

"What was that thing ya did," she started, as if they weren't in a firefight. "That thing with the cool bug guy and the sword..."

One thing, and one thing only. Seemingly to emphasise the point, the "man" extended his index finger, pointing toward Harry. I will allow you to walk and operate freely among your artificial fellows, as it's hardly a good experiment - or game, for that matter - if one person has to "stay at home" all the time. By the way... my name is Psi. Remember that, as I don't feel like repeating it.
