Blink looked at the Plasma Rifle, dismayed. If it was a gun, which she never used, she couldn't figure out how to fire it. It didn't have a trigger or anything, and considering it was fairly large, she wasn't sure if she'd be that good with it.
So she tossed it away, towards the challengers below.
Gordon fired another shot at the disoriented and scattered Covenant, hoping to hit another one of them.
"Oh, dear. The toad, the monkey, and the dog have all screwed up."

Yuuka turned her head at Subaru's display of power, eyes gleaming.

Rey stayed huddled, covering his ears. "Getting shot at...this is a first I never wanted!"

There wasn't much left of the Covenant squad after the Champions' onslaught. Blue and violet blood was smeared across the walls, and several severed limbs and organs were laid on the ground.
"Hostiles neutralized. I doubt that's the last of them."
Jorge turned back to the Champions. Even though his visor obscured his face, it was clear that he was none too happy.
"Right, we don't have much time, so I'll give you the short version. These scum are members of the Covenant, a religious alien hegemony. My strain of humanity has been fighting them for over two decades."
He looked down. "Reach is one of our most valuable worlds, and they managed to find it. We're losing this damned war. I don't know how the Covenant invasion army managed to reach New Alexandria."
There was an odd noise that almost sounded like a deflating balloon. A creature that looked like a cross between a jellyfish and a squid slowly floated up into view. "Engineer! Take it out, there's a-" Suddenly, searing hot plasma bolts began to rain on the Champions' positions.
"Down! Move down!" Jorge began crouch-walking to the next floor down. An Elite Minor and Major commanded several Grunts and a few energy shield-wielding aliens resembling short raptors.
"Jackals down below!"

Hahli fired several times at the Jackals. The Cordak fire, was, of course, a distraction, whil she readied a torrent of water that would wash away whatever survived.
"I got em." Narumi said, running up to a Jackal and punching it in the face, when it was down he kicked it to the ground.
"Of course, Satsuki-sama."
"Shields? That looks fun!" Blink said, standing up again. She teleported directly next to the outermost Jackal, socked it as hard as she could, pulled off its shield gauntlet, and vanished again.
Gordon, on the other hand, tossed a grenade at the remaining Jackals, hoping it would roll under one of their shields.
"Oh, dear. The toad, the monkey, and the dog have all screwed up."

Yuuka halted her stream of flowers for a second and released a huge wave of flower danmaku in an expanding forward orientation. There was enough to cover the hallway several times over; the covenant found their shields draining rapidly from collision from the flowers.

Ravage cloaked himself and drew a bead on the Elite's head, his reticule hovering right smack in the center of its four palps. After taking a nano to ensure his aim was steady, the Predacon fired.

Rey yelped, covering his head with his arms at the onslaught of beams. "Oh God, I hate this place! I'd rather be a girl again!"

Narumi kicked the grenade so it would guarantee that it would be under a Jackal's shield and then jumps and shoots the grenade, detonating it.
Naoto dived out of the way of the plasma fire. She aimed her gun at the jackals, but noticed that they had shields. She girt her teeth as she tried to think of what to do. As she was thinking a glowing blue card seemed to materialize out of no where and float in front of her card. Her eyes widened in surprise at this, but she narrowed her eyes and shouted.
"Persona!"
She fired into the card, causing it to actually shatter loudly. Naoto herself glowed blue as Sukuna-Hikona appeared in front of her and faced the Jackals. The ground under them developed dark purple circles and runes and purple flames appeared. There seemed to be a pulse of energy as several Jackals fell and Sukuna-Hikona vanished.

That was all the warning the Champions had before fire began consuming the entire hallway a few seconds later.

Hahli had summoned an enormous flood, which swiftly washed away any remaining Jackals.

"Aww. What a way to take away the fun," Yuuka said as Naoto harmlessly took out the jackals. Her rain of flowers continued.
Yuuka took to the air to avoid the flames/flood.

Rey remained huddled where he was, staring at the carnage around him, all but hugging his knees to his chest.
"This is so much worse than the school, this is so, so, so much worse than the school..."

The plasma rifle Blink had tossed away lay near Rey, unused.
Blink finished fitting the Jackal shield onto her arm and triggered it, looking the shield over in awe.
"This is so cool!" she exclaimed.
Gordon swapped out his shotgun for his Pulse Rifle and leaned out of cover, searching for any surviving Covenant.
"Oh, dear. The toad, the monkey, and the dog have all screwed up."
Lord of Shadows
The flames have consumed half the hallway, and continued towards the Covenant soldiers.
Unfortunately, most of the Champions were still in between both.

Rey looked down at the gun near his feet, looking around a moment, then winced, saying a quick prayer and crossing himself, picking it up. "I'm probably about to hurt myself..."

Blink, high up on a tall object, had nothing to fear from the flames.
Gordon, behind cover and out of the way, was also not in their path.
"Oh, dear. The toad, the monkey, and the dog have all screwed up."
After blowing a neat hole in the Elite's head, Ravage ducked back into cover to avoid the deadly torrent of flames shooting down the hallway.

Subaru placed herself closer to the Covenant and Mach Caliber intoned,
“Protection.”
A see through shield appeared between Subaru and Covenant and she stayed between them and the other champions except for Bowser, who seemed intent on barbecuing the entire room.
“Go! Go!”

Rey grunted, hanging onto the gun and scooting forward hesitantly towards what looked like safety. "God I don't know what I'm doing..."

-Eddie blasted a face-melting solo towards the Covenant-
Subaru had also hidden behind a corner when Jorge had warned them. Now that she was stuck into a combat situation, Subaru realized that she was at a slight disadvantage. Normal TSAB guidelines heavily restricted use of lethal force. Unless it was considered a life or death situation.
And I don’t know enough about this conflict, gotta ask Jorge later.
First things first, dealing with this squad of Covenant, as Jorge had titled them.
“Revolver…” The dual cylinders wrapped around her right wrist began to spin exceptionally fast, a blue ring appearing in the air around the spinning parts as well. Subaru focused, she didn’t need to waste a complete cartridge on one shot anymore, so…
“SHOOT!” Subaru spun out from behind the wall directly into the hallway facing the group of Covenant. She swung back her right arm and then swung a massive strait fisted punch outwards. A bolt of bluish white energy tore from her arm and rocketed down the hallway, tearing bits of debris from the walls as it shot past them. The bolt detonated in the midst of the Convenant like a bomb, blowing everything helter-skelter.
