Not really, many people still think the original was better than it's sequels. Now if you had said you liked Shrek The Third better, that would have been an anomaly.
You are displaying abnormally high compulsions to over-analyze works of fiction and media. Diagnosis: TV Tropes Addiction.I have high hopes for Mega Mind.
"Religion isn't the cause of wars, it's the excuse." —Mycroft NextDitto. I somewhat enjoyed Despicable Me over the summer and I loved The Incredibles, so I'm hoping for an awesome blend of the two for Mega Mind. Also, I love the Dr Horrible aspect to it.

You are displaying abnormally high compulsions to over-analyze works of fiction and media. Diagnosis: TV Tropes Addiction. Not sure what to think of Mega Mind just yet. I've spoiled myself for the big twist a while ago, so that may be a problem...
"Proto-Indo-European makes the damnedest words related. It's great. It's the Kevin Bacon of etymology." ~MadrugadaI liked Escape 2 Africa more than Madagascar. At least Escape 2 Africa had a plot.
More Buscemi at http://forum.reelsociety.com/For some reason, I'm not feeling the vibes for Mega Mind, at least not the way I did for Monsters vs. Aliens or Kung Fu Panda. Maybe I'm just turned off by the protagonist's look.
And I continue to say that I found it hypocritical that Shrek's aesop was "be happy with who you are" while throwing short jokes at Lord Farquad. Jeff Katzenberg's vindictive streak was very prominent there.

So, guys. Valid TakeThat or no?

But seriously, Mega Mind looks awesome. It's like Dr Horrible meets The Incredibles and they were both hi jacked into Saturday Night Live.
You are displaying abnormally high compulsions to over-analyze works of fiction and media. Diagnosis: TV Tropes Addiction.Here are my thoughts;
- All of the Shrek movies were good, (however 3 and 4 were at best decent)
- Shark Tale was terrible
- Kung Fu Panda and How To Train Your Dragon are some of the best animated films I've ever seen.
- The one good thing about Madagacar were the Penguins, which is why I think the show is much better.
- Monsters Vs Aliens was okay, but Stephen Colbert as the president was freaking hilarious.
- I have yet to see Dispicable Me but It looks pretty good. (ditto for Mega Mind.
My thoughts exactly
You are displaying abnormally high compulsions to over-analyze works of fiction and media. Diagnosis: TV Tropes Addiction.Despicable Me isn't Dreamworks is it? Seems counterintuitve for the same company to realease two movies about the same thing the same year.
And yeah I love Shrek2 and Kung Fu Panda. The rest were either meh... or I disliked (Shark Tale).

The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.Despicable Me is, indeed, not Dreamworks.
"Proto-Indo-European makes the damnedest words related. It's great. It's the Kevin Bacon of etymology." ~MadrugadaShark Tale is their weakest entry, I didn't even remember it until you guys brought it up.
It's not terrible, though, it has its moments.
"Religion isn't the cause of wars, it's the excuse." —Mycroft Next..how is the lamp making the face?
How to Train Your Dragon I havent seen. But I do hear that the dragon looks like Stitch. Prince of Egypt{even if anyone remembers this film} was probably one of the good ones.

The dragons... do not look like Stitch.
"Religion isn't the cause of wars, it's the excuse." —Mycroft NextHave you looked at Toothless and Stitch side-by-side, man?
"Proto-Indo-European makes the damnedest words related. It's great. It's the Kevin Bacon of etymology." ~MadrugadaI havent seen the film to know the differences man. Besides my friends told me that he looked like stitch.
Someone once told me Toothless reminded them Mew from the Pokémon movies. ...I can kind of see where they're coming from.
Talkin' to Eddie, not you, man.
(This is starting to sound very Surfer Dude.)
"Proto-Indo-European makes the damnedest words related. It's great. It's the Kevin Bacon of etymology." ~MadrugadaHe doesn't so much look like Stitch in design as he emotes like Stitch.
They also have the same facial shape, the same general eye placement and eye shape, the same claws, and the same big floopy ears/ear-analogues that move the same way.
"Proto-Indo-European makes the damnedest words related. It's great. It's the Kevin Bacon of etymology." ~MadrugadaMegamind and Despicable Me actually seem pretty different to me. In Megamind, the villain actually seems to do something (and someone's actually trying to stop him).
More Buscemi at http://forum.reelsociety.com/I'm mixed, I liked all of the Shrek movies, and Over The Hedge was pretty good, but I came out of the theatre after Madagascar, and for the first time in my life I felt like I'd been robbed.
Because they've never done a fairy tale before, and it's good to push your limits and expand your horizons?
I appear to be an anomaly for liking the first Shrek best out of all of 'em.
