The Cracked Thread

I started to watch the new cast, made it about thirty seconds in and decided there was something else much better elsewhere on youtube, so good job, Cracked.

I haven't read or watched anything on Cracked for a while. Their shift from comedy, pop culture and weird world things to politics and such turned me off.

Watched it. Was fine. Not really different from the old cast.

What I liked about them is that they didn't try too hard to tell you who they are. Seems like they'll let their personalities, preferences, etc. sort of develop. After Hours Classic actually failed this at first... they started off with a specific image of who the characters are and spent a lot of the first few episodes awkwardly shoehorning it in audiences faces their positions, opinions, and relationships.

Well except for "raised on a boat" girl.

Anyway, true that it's a strangely dark episode for Power Rangers. Worth it for giving us The Magna Defender's Baller theme.

Im reading a Wong article and thinking " I've been saying that for months.".

This election really broke reality.

There is only one thing I take issue with, the reasoning for why people don't vote. There are definitely people who choose not to, but a lot of that is sort of systematically put in place. Every extra step that gets added, more and more disenfranchised people can't take the time and energy to vote.

So Cracke is setting up a subscription service for extra content, but get this you also have to pay to vote on comments.

I mean it would hopefully help filter out trolls and bots, so there will be benefits.

I mean, he's obviously a vampire. Hasn't aged a day in eight years. But he was an awesome vampire to have around on After Hours.

Either way it's an attempt to monetise a portion of their reader base they've openly despised for a while.

Do they even have enough of a readerbase anymore to get picky?

I hear American Dad is better than Family Guy at this point, but that may be damning by faint praise.

I mean, I never really like American Dad, so yeah, that sounds more like a dig at Family Guy :-P

The main difference between American Dad and Family Guy is mostly how A.D. family members actually care for each other.

Other than that, it is the same formula as F.G.

What really makes this move sad for me is that Cracked content has been steadily improving. I remember all the clickbait shit they've been pushing just a few years ago, when every other article might as well could have been titled "X ways YOU, yes, YOU personally are an irredeemable racist-sexist monster".
