I don't know what I was expecting out of the Stands, but I like them.

I'm wondering if they are going to do the random palette shifts. Not like the one during Time Stop, the random ones that come out of nowhere.

That would be awesome.

Has anyone thought of an AU where Susie Q and Tomoko Higashikata switched roles with one another like Tomoko would be the wife he marries during the 30's in his youth while Susie Q would be the college chick he had an affair with in his sixites? For this to to work, Tomoko would have to be made Japanese-American instead of Japanese and I could see this happening like Joseph runs into her during his time in America along with Smokey. For Susie Q, she would be a woman he meets on a business trip in Italy and has a short affair with her even though he's married to Tomoko.

In contrast with how Susie Q was a bit of a ditz in her youth, Tomoko is very perspective and cautious about what Joseph would do. With Susie Q in the switch, she would still be ditzy and look fondly over her time with Joseph even though he was in his sixties at the time.

Tomoko would probably smash Joseph's face into a car windshield for cheating.

She would show no mercy.

I could see alternate Tomoko still being a firecracker in old age.

With the switch, Josuke and Holy would switch roles as well. Josuke would be their half Japanese/half American British son who moved to Japan so he could be connected better to his mother's culture. Jotaro would be his son in stead, but he would 3/4 Japanese instead of just half. Also Josuke would be more of a Non-Action Guy, while Holy would be an Action Girl who lives in Italy with her mother and was able to control her stand.

And then Holly ends up teaming up with Giorno. It is awkward for everyone when they learn that he is DIO's son.

Funny thing, Josuke shows greed with complete lack of dignity and restraint when it comes to making a quick buck. However, at first, he won't accept inheritance or money from his deadbeat father.

Pride works in mysterious ways.

Alternate Holly teaming up with Giorno sounds awesome. They can both defeat the Mafia together. Also this means Holly's stand needs to get a name as well. Her stand would be "Every Rose Had It's Thorns", because it was plant like.

Also alternate Holly in contrast with canon Josuke would actually be more warm and open to her never seen father, because her personality has always been shown as being welcoming.

It's kinda like Eddy from Ed, Edd, n' Eddy. He could probably ask his parents for allowance or something, but he'd rather make the money himself.

Hadn't noticed until now. Maybe fans don't like live action adaptations of beloved works either.

Live action adaptions have very much bad reputations.

Plus apparently special effects aren't favored. I think they look good for what they're trying to do.

Okuyasu really pulled off the Face of a Thug trope! And Josuke has this James Dean slash Elvis Presley slash Marlon Brando Cute but Troubled young greaser rebel thing going on.

I like how this is looking.

Josuke as an Old Bishonen is nice, but he looks too old. The actor seems to be easily in his forties.

Also, he smiled. That's weird. Jotaro only smiles when he's beating the shit out of someone.

By the way Part 5's retranslation is almost done, with just one volume left to go. I'd forgotten just how apocalyptic Silver Chariot Requiem was. It it hadn't been beaten in time, it would have used its power over souls to replace every living being on earth with extradimensional lifeforms.

Requiem Stands are bullshit. That was pretty much the real stakes of that last fight. If Diavolo got the arrow, everyone would be screwed by ultimate Stand hax with no way to fight back.

I wonder what King Crimson Requiem would have been like.

probably a power that let's him keep his anonymity no matter what. my guess is that he would keep the original King Crimson abilities, as well as the ability to erase all memory and traces of his existence, turning himself into a sort of "blind spot" to any manner of perception.
