Ehhh, having not played the VN, I'm wondering if they could have possibly done a bit more to make the stories flow together. Maybe juggle the endings around a bit to make Yuiichi come across as less of a man slut.
They give birth astride of a grave, the light gleams for an instant, then it's night once more- Something like Hellsing, Lupin The third, Magic Knight Rayearth, or Slayers.
- No moe, sorry but it creeps me out.
- I'm pretty cool with historical dramas, shoujo, josei, etc.

I already said that I've read and enjoyed Hourou Musuko. Thanks for trying though.
Ok then...I'll start with this Kanon thing.
If someone wants to accuse us of eating coconut shells, then that's their business. We know what we're doing. - Achaan Chah^^ From what I've heard of it, Urotsukidouji would fit the bill. It has lots of monster action and is done in the old-school style. It's also one of the classics, having started an entire genre that's still going strong even today and contributing greatly to how anime is perceived by Westerners.
^ I made a promise that I never touch that anime with a ten foot pole after I heard it described in a book about anime.
Lost Universe then?
DeadSounds like something I might like.
Think you have it mixed up with another Studio Bones show, Eureka Seven. Rah Xephon is more about Mayan mythology than Hindu. Also, musical theory.
What's precedent ever done for us?I am aware of that, but Rah Xephon has Yolteotl, that is a weird mix between the yaqui concept and the similar Buddhist one, and is central to the series plot and may be very confusing to some viewers.
DeadI'm looking for a dark, dramatic scifi/fantasy series, preferably not Berserk or Elfen Lied.
And I'd like it to be relatively short (14-25 episodes).

I've got new mythological machinery, and very handsome supernatural scenery. Goodfae: a mafia web serialDarker than Black? Mononoke for that extra darkness?

And better than thy stroke; why swellest thou then?Seen all but the last two eps, which I've shamefully been putting off.
I've got new mythological machinery, and very handsome supernatural scenery. Goodfae: a mafia web serialIf you don't mind movies, Vampire Hunter D, Karas, and Akira.
And better than thy stroke; why swellest thou then? That definition is a little vague, can you narrow it a bit?
A scifi or fantasy series, relatively short, that has well done drama, occasional to frequent action and maybe some navel gazing.
I've got new mythological machinery, and very handsome supernatural scenery. Goodfae: a mafia web serialSo... may I draw your attention to Rah Xephon?
I've been meaning to check out Rah Xephon. Might as well.
Oh, and by the way, I am not touching NGE or Lain with a ten foot pole. Navel gazing has it's limits.
EDIT: sola looks like it might be fun.

I've got new mythological machinery, and very handsome supernatural scenery. Goodfae: a mafia web serialThe navel gazing, weirdness, and general whininess of Eva is vastly overstated. It's only the last few episodes where it's much beyond normal.
Killer Rabbit: Trying any more integration between the routes would make Yuuichi come off as a Casanova.
My FF.net accountAnyone know of a good comedy (anime or manga)? I enjoyed Azumanga Daioh, Yotsuba, Shin Chan (english dub), and Midori No Hibi if that helps.
I've been thinking about giving School Rumble a go, but I remember not finding the first episode very funny. If I were to give it a chance, should I watch the dubbed version up on Hulu?
If you enjoy manzai and heavy amounts of sight gags then damn near anything by Hayashiya Shizuru may appeal to you. Specific comics I recommend are Strawberry Shake Sweet and Hayate Cross Blade.
If someone wants to accuse us of eating coconut shells, then that's their business. We know what we're doing. - Achaan Chah@Aon: Just a recommendation for your first question, try Ai No Shintairiku. It's kind of generic, but it's cute. Also, there's a chapter in Mermaid Line that falls under that.
Maybe Double House as well. Maybe.
@TD: If you haven't seen Excel Saga yet, then I definitely recommend it in all it's insanity. Otherwise, Welcome To The NHK is worth a look if you don't mind incredibly dark comedy.

Huh, I need to get through the Kanon VN too. Man, I'm so behind.
