^ Hmm, sounds interesting. So how are you planning on tackling aura?

On a tangent, apparently Dragonite are a part of the fossil record in the Poke-world... That is, if that gigantic fossil in the museum part of Aloe's gym is anything to go by...

Let's play a game about Pokémon...

Aura is basically bioelectromagnetic energy.

Aura Sight is basically a form of EM vision attuned towards the common EM frequencies projected by living creatures.

I was thinking it was something like Alpha waves that Psychic Pokemon have but with different properties. Often associated with manifesting in Fighting Pokemon.

How would those little machines that heal your Pokémon work? Electromagnetic therapy?

How about this way?

Well I saw something on a page here that said it was basically some sort of resting accelerator. Your Pokemon are just basically getting sleep.

Two courses of action:

  • Simply assume the machines in the games are an abstraction, because waiting hours to bandage/rest up is boring
  • Figure out how zappy machines can treat Pokémon within Pokéballs, why it doesn't seem to have a portable equivalent, and whether the technology is ever applied to human injuries.

^The machines exist, to my knowledge, in Manga and Anime canon. It can be assumed, for a starting point, that the machines are essentially accelerators of the same process that allows every Pokémon to be hit by a Rock Slide and emerge ready to launch an Hyper Beam six second later. It would make sense that there is no portable technology to do that, at least "currently" by adding the factor that you want to heal your entire party and you want the process to be expedite. After all, there are (natural) abilities that allow some Pokémon to heal an ally, but that's definitively not insta-button.

As for if yay or nay on humans, we can work out the whys from there.

What is the correct plural for why, anyway?

^ Let us assume that the actual medical procedures undertaken in Pokemon centers are a bit less precise than those on humans depending on the 'mon's much hardier constitution (just think of all the punishment your team takes in-game with no permanent damage) to compensate.

In theory the rapid healing technology could already be used for humans, but in less drastic forms. There's nothing in any media that claims that all of this amazing technology isn't used for things that aren't pokemon-related, just that it isn't as interesting as kid-safe animal boxing.

For my Luvdisc entry, what would you guys think if I had Luvdisc hunting in there? Hunting down Luvdisc for their Heart Scales which are quite valuble among some people, and the Luvdisc wouldn't be able to defend themselves because they're too weak.

^ Poaching does seem fairly logical, though you'd have to explain exactly why the scales are so valued among collectors.

I suppose they're sold to collectors and competitive battlers. That's what inspired that thought. I'll leave the Sinnoh region out of this though since heart scales are found more easily underground.

Heart scales are valuable collector's items, and many people, like move tutors, will ask for one in exchange for their help. Thus, they are even more apreciated by competitive trainers who wish to make thei Pokémon learn or remember moves.

They... tutor them, I'd guess. tongue

I guess to work out healing devices, we'd first need to address potions and/or berries.
