(I'm not sure where this really belongs, so I'm putting it in YF for now. Mods, feel free to move it to Forum Games if you think it fits better there.)
The point of this thread is to list your favorite tropers and say what makes you like them so much. Please be specific; we already have Gushing About Shows You Like if you want to gush about TV Tropes or the Forums in general.
EDIT: Chopped the list because it's now quite outdated, and there are some comments in here that only made sense back in 2009 and may have even been a bit creepy.

Spanish is a language that is of very shallow ortography.

Always, somewhere, someone is fighting for you. As long as you remember them, you are not alone.EXACTLY!
Dude, Spanish/pronunciation derail. Also, sadly, my Spanish isn't that great either. My grammar is good, but the fact that I can never remember any verbs tends to be a bit of a problem.
“Isn't it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too?”I can't remember any words at all! Fuck yeah. Good thing I have Ubiquity now, so it's slightly less terrible.

Admittedly, that's not too difficult, but still...
I have problems remembering words in German as well. I have a pretty good grasp on the grammar sometimes.
...I should stop talking about languages no one else is.
"I can't imagine what Hell will have in store, but I know when I'm there, I won't wander anymore."I find grammer a lot easier than vocabulary. but that's just me.
Some writing.Funny, whenever i speak Spanish, my voice deepens.
As can be seen in this video i made (Self Promotion FTW):
YOUR GRAMMAR! IT HURT ME TO THE DEEPEST FIBER OF MY SOUL!

I saw that video before. Why? Where? ._.
Yeah. I am rusty.
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.SPANISH HAS GENDERED ARTICLES FOR GODS SAKE!
And for that we pity you.
What's the frequency Kenneth?|In case of war.True.
The deadlines for that film were a bitch, post production be damned.
I'll withdraw my film now.
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.You Pity My language? For not lacking gender? How Dare Thou?!
What exactly is the advantage of gendered articles (and adjectives for that matter)? I can't think of any.
[1] This facsimile operated in part by synAC.Whoa! Vandro! Calm down! No need to get informal!
"I can't imagine what Hell will have in store, but I know when I'm there, I won't wander anymore."- is amused at needless Hot Blood-

Adventages, not really...Androgynous characters gender are outright stated, for one.

ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.@Zudak: Whoa, really? I had no idea anyone would find that funny at all...
Also, yeah, I hate gendered articles. It makes things needlessly complicated, and anyway, inanimate objects don't have a sex. Seriously. For instance, a table is not a boy or a girl. It is a table. Although that won't stop some people.

Well, whatever, trying to explain differences in pronunciation in text is probably going to fail.
topic: vandro is pretty cool for (barely) tolerating my ridiculously broken Spanish.
