And Sakuya's a mad genius when it comes to having fun. Isumi doesn't agree, however.

Hayate uses Blackmail on Principal Kananiwa! It was super-effective!

Any mundane game will become awesome once stakes are thrown. That's how it rolls.

Hm... Was Nagi really tired as Hayate says? Can't really trust him when he's on a roll with his schemes.

But no matter what, Hina will never be caught sleeping in high-stake battles.

Well, that's certainly an interesting strategy.

Hina just wasn't unlucky enough to win. But maybe her feeling of disappointment will open the path...?

But yeah, bad luck power-levels abound!

Oh, huh, it looks like we're actually going to get some fairly serious plot payoff soon. Hata seems to want to wrap things up quickly but wrapping up Hayate's debt and then implying Nagi is going to learn that Hayate never loved her? Neat.

Nagi's greatest joy shall become her ultimate despair. Only then will the path reveal itself...

Chapter 518: Fumi has family(and money) problems, gets into an "epic" Rap Battle with Hatsuho, and gets her lights punched out by Sharna. Just another day for her.

Chapter 519:

Maria, like Hayate, feels she's no longer needed...

Ah, so Tsugumi was hired by Mikoto to track down the King's Jewels. And then Mikoto herself gave the final two to Hayate. Also, Hayate hears a voice from beyond the grave...

In other words, the plot performed another drive-by shooting.

Kind of weird about Fumi given that we were already told that her family is pretty rich.

Neat. Wrapping up those plot threads one by one. Nagi's manga is readable and Hayate has been clued in on what she thinks their relationship is.

Hayate's expression at the end was priceless.

So she finally shows her face. She must be a real terror if the maids and butlers quake at her appearance.

How's Klaus doing, by the way?

And one tick closer on the countdown to absolutely Nagi meltdown.

For Nagi's sake, Hayate decides to woo Maria, then break her heart!

...But his heart might explode before reaching that point...

The story is probably going to spend another chapters setting up the situation with more jokes like this but Nagi is going to end up devastated pretty soon.

She'll get over it. When her mother was her age, she was adamant about marrying Klaus, and we know how that turned out. It's not like she's going to run off and join a convent or anything (if nothing else, the vow of poverty would keep her away).

Aaaaaand catching up again.

Good to see Ruka again, Hayate actually decided to break a heart to open the path to the Royal Garden, then he targets Maria of all people, who just confessed she was thinking about quitting as Nagi's maid. I will be pleasantly surprised if the next chapter wasn't filler.

Just read Volume 28. What night was Hayate referring to? Or rather, what joke was he about to make about Hinagiku's birthday?
