I'm just so curious to see where the plot will go, honestly. I liked the blend of comedy and plot, but that's just me.
My FF.net accountMapi: And where is that?
"No, the Singularity will not happen. Computation is hard." -Happy Ent@Arilou: When Hina tells Ayumu that she's fallen in love with Hayate despite playing The Cyrano.
In other words, that's very far from where the manga currently is.
My FF.net accountChapter number woman! Chapter number!
"No, the Singularity will not happen. Computation is hard." -Happy EntI forgot. Sorry, but I really forgot.
My FF.net accountThat's chapter 146.
Thanks Clarste. And we're currently at... chapter 264 for scans, I think.
My FF.net accountVictory is mine!
"No, the Singularity will not happen. Computation is hard." -Happy EntIs it just me or does Hayate look even more girly in the manga?
"No, the Singularity will not happen. Computation is hard." -Happy EntMaybe? This topic inspired me to catch up with the anime, and he did look more out-of-place in girl's clothes than I remembered.
Edit: And now we're up to 265. You're falling behind by the minute!

Also, the manga showcases just how few faces they have. It's really hard to tell characters apart without coloring.
"No, the Singularity will not happen. Computation is hard." -Happy Ent@Clarste: No time to binge because finals are here.
@Arilou: I'll have to admit, sometimes I have to squint to tell Sakuya and say, Chiharu or Isumi apart.
My FF.net accountThe artist is pretty good at making hairstyles and eye shapes distinct, or at least I got used to it, but there are just so many characters... I'll admit that he has like two faces though, and he uses one for 90% of the characters.
The only people I really have difficulty telling apart sometimes are Izumi and Ayumu.
Fear the Gothilolions! | Anime listYES. Their hairstyles are identical; the only way to tell them apart is to either look at their uniforms or their eyes, since Izumi's eyes are often closed.

My FF.net accountNizhizawa is made out of awesome and win.
"No, the Singularity will not happen. Computation is hard." -Happy EntYes, there's a reason why Ayumu is my favorite character in this show/manga.
My FF.net account- reading through the chapters*
Wait, did they just have a heartfelt moment of caring support with *Izumi* of all people?
"No, the Singularity will not happen. Computation is hard." -Happy EntI'm a bit confused right now. Are we talking about Segawa? Because the name Izumi always makes me think of the little exorcist girl (or was that Isumi?). If we're talking about Segawa, then yes, she kinda gets promoted from simply part of the student council trio for some reason. There's even more later.
Also, another distinguishing feature of her (compared to Ayumu) is her constant huge grin, even when it's not quite appropriate.

Izumi Segawa vs. Isumi Saginomiya. Anyway yes, Izumi had that whole childhood promise with Hayate thing.
My FF.net accountYep, popular characters end up getting more page time.
Just read the first volume. Was not impressed.
You can't even write racist abuse in excrement on somebody's car without the politically correct brigade jumping down your throat!^^ Well, she's not really that popular. She was 10th on the popularity poll after all her character development. She got the screen time before she was popular.

Hell, Athena was in the top 10, and that was before people knew anything about her other than the fact she was Hayate's ex.

I actually can't really stand watching the anime, but I love the manga. Something about the pacing.
Anyway, anyone else think the series has undergone Cerebus Syndrome? Well, honestly, I don't think that's even controversial, but even ignoring the most recent arc there's still been a lot of stuff being thrown at us that I find it slightly hard to care about. Actually, I've even heard things like the author originally intended to write a drama about the stones and the garden and all that but it got rejected so he did a comedy instead... but injected his favored story into it when it got popular enough to risk it. Which is a slightly irritating feeling, if true. So far it's still good with the character drama that it's had since the beginning, but the actual plot is iffy, and it's a bit hard to see where it's going after this.
