I don't suppose there's a translated game script floating about on someone's blog somewhere by any chance? Although, that would get tedious, Playing Fate/Grand Order that way is pretty exhausting mentally.

Kaine's Dick bulge is also much more visible in replicant, from what I remember.

The only thing I ever found was a mod that replaced the japanese text with the english script from the localization. It doesn't really give you the actual experience of playing Replicant as you can imagine.

Wait, so it's just like playing Gestalt with Replicant's character model? Wtf is the point of that?? Then again, I know some people complain about being locked into Old Guy Nier and would prefer Bishie Nier, so it's probably for them.

Uh, spoiler tags? I think everyone here knows about it already, but I think the odds are good of someone coming here straight from Automata like how I got here, only they don't already know All There Is To Know About The Crying Game as it were.

Well that's the localized version right? Of course it would be written as daddy Nier for consistency. (if it's dad Nier in the japanese version too ignore me. I didn't actually check)

It's Dad Nier in the english version in Japan, Brother in the japanese text.

Although Father Nier is mentioned in every version of the game in one of the cruel weapons weapon stories.

Yoko Taro said both were canon and in the same universe

And it's been over 7 years since the game originally released, it's honestly a Late-Arrival Spoiler at this point. Same with Aerith dying, really.

That would be true if the Nier games were as big as FF VII, but let's be real, they're not all that well known. Certainly not mainstream enough to expect everyone to know about Kaine anyway. Though I expect Automata will be bringing in a lot of new fans like it did with me. So it would be polite if you'd spoiler tag stuff like that. I already knew, but the next guy to arrive here might not.

I did consider that the Iron Pipe's story might vary between versions. I think the lines make slightly more sense if Yonah is talking about Brother Nier. The bit about sharing her cookie with him springs to mind. That's not totally out of place if she's talking about Dad Nier, but makes a bit more sense if he's Brother Nier.

So I'm trying to farm plug-in chips to max out my attack stat, but I'm getting pissed off with the enemies always dropping useless crap like Weapon Attack +1 with 10 capacity. Do the enemies drop better loot on higher difficulties? And since I made it through the entirety of Normal mode without dying once, does the game autosave if you die and then die again and lose all your stuff? I doubt it, but this is a game where the best ending tries to erase your save file, so I wouldn't put it past it to autosave only when it would be really inconvenient to do so.

Kaine being intersex isn't really something I would consider a major spoiler. The reveal is a bit of a surprise if you didn't put the clues together but it's not like it's plot important. Just a part of her backstory.

Also in the localization all the hints are a bit vague. Its hard to pick up on them unless you already know.

From one spoiler to another, I just noticed something, though someone else may have noticed it to. But I'm not reading the backlog of so many pages since Automata was released to see if anyone else noticed it to.

A few pages back someone said Yoko talked about Danganronpa, which, while it has a following, it's isn't the most well known game in the world.

I found it weird that he noticed that.

BUT THERE IS A CORRELATION BETWEEN AUTOMATA AND DANGANRONPA!

Specifically, between two characters. Spoilers for Danganronpa 2 and Nagito's character specifically and Automata and 9S specifically.

Both 9S and Nagito have something happen to their left arm. Though what happens is rather different, but similar in many ways.

Nagito more or less on purposely replaces his left arm with Junko Enoshima's because he's nuts. 9S replaces his left arm with 2B's more or less out of necessity, though he is experiencing a downward spiral of mental health.

Their relationship with who they take their arms from are quite similar though. 9S and Nagito both hate yet love the person they took their arms from. While 9S experiences the same extremes as Nagito, he is far more balanced and tries to become friends with 2B and genuinely wishes to become her friend.

Nagito is... Nagito Komaeda.

There are probably also several other similarities that I could point out but that was right there in front of my damn face.

Nier: Replicant skins DLC announced,

Unlocked by beating the Arena in new dlc.

The Arena is absolutley insane and even has new bosses such as: The Square Enix CEO. And various members of the development team. Some of their orb attacks are the floating heads of the SE president

I am kind of miffed that 2B gets the Kaine costume and not A2 the android that's made from Kaine's memories

They need to add a level 99 version where after Yosuke Matsuda and Kenichi Saito are defeated, Yoko Taro comes in on Angelus and uses Zero's weapons in a King of the Storms and Nameless King Homage. Instead of his own head, it would be te credits from Endign E he fires at you.

Yoko Taro as a Grotesquerie Queen.

Combining a bullet hell and a rhythm minigame somehow.

And it's completely unwinnable since you don't have access to a dragon.

Clearly an android dragon will show up that you get to ride and it turns out Angelus remains are being used to make them.

That or the Pod's make a Hard Light dragon. Magic was harnessed from Angelus afterall, and Gabriella was the only thing able to perfectly counter that android boy from the Utaihime manga.

You know, I genuinely wonder what the pitch for this DLC was like...

He must of thought the same thing for Final Fantasy XV

Next thing you know, Yosuke Matsuda and Tetsuya Nomura will do the same thing in Kingdom Hearts 3 with a remix of One winged angel with every instance of Sephiroth being replaced with CEO and then Designer gets mixed in when Nomura comes in.

Can I just say the new version of Birth Of A Wish in the dlc is the best track in the game.

So I just started Automata, and is the fact that the settings menu is all fucked up a plot point or a bug?

The fact that you have to ask really says a lot about this kind of game, doesn't it? xP
