Half a chapter of nakedness. Yay. I'm hoping Ajeel wasn't oneshotted, but considering since this is Erza, probably. Either way, it was stupid. Boo.

Oh right That Marin dude controls space, so he was able to stop both Lucy's Celestial Spirit Magic and Erza's Re-equip magic. I'd forgotten that.

So it occurs to me, that while Natsu is still awful, his being both End and a Dragon Slayer (perhaps more the former than the latter) totally justifies his ridiculous strength (maybe not his wins, but at least his strength).

So really, Erza really is the worst of the two, because she only wins because She's Erza

That's depressing, since once upon a time, Erza being so OP was a great thing since it was a female character explicitly seen as being the strongest.

Edit: Almost forgot the mystery of Lucy's mother. Looks like she has some connection to Alvarez. There's still a lot about her we don't know.

True Natsu's backstory gives him a legitimate reason for his strength, its just his personality is annoying. I mean people dont complain bout Alucard or Ainz Ooal Gown from Overlord for being OP cause they have charming personalities & dont act like cliche idiot heroes.

Then Erza really is weird. Shes a normal human right? & somehow through sheer force of will can defy things that should be physically & biologically impossible despite again being a regular human with nothing special about her. Seriously what the hell kind of workout does she do?

Well, there's only one other series where a seemingly normal human has ridiculous strength, and there it's Played for Laughs.

Cause hes a kinda unique character while also being charming. I dont know what I mean by charming but its something Natsu & some of the cast just dont have.

Erza's favoritism makes alot more sense when you realize Mashima based certain part of her off his significant other

My god that makes so much fucking sense!!!! Excuse me for ranting & getting pissed off but I absolutely cannot stand characters based of the authors family or significant others. They always turn out to be annoying creator pets, just look at charlie cooper from Spider-Man & lily form How I Met Your Mother. Erza's bullshit victory's make absolute sense now, God fucking damn it!!!!

Which was fine before the timeskip happened. Then it went horribly horribly wrong.

Even Hades with them all together wasn't losing until the source of his power got destroyed by pure chance.

x2 Now I want Celestial Spirit Angel summoning. Because there are angels tied to the Zodiac. One of whom is demon lord Asmodeus.

The closest we got to a tolerable one is Shanoa Black in Castlevania Order Of Ecclesia. Usually we get Alice from the Resident Evil movies...

And this is fucking shounen, people are allowed to be ridiculously strong just because they are. Makarov and Gildarts are powerhouses too. Hell, the Alvarez 12.

Makarov's not even that strong since Grimoire Heart attacked. He's been beaten around and getting too old for this shit.

And Gildarts is kept out of the story for that very reason and even then Acnologia did a ton of damage to him offscreen while he didn't do jack to him.

…Err, right, where is Gildartz again? It seems like the kind of situation where his strength might not be unnecessary. =[

Otherwise, it's not an FT arc without some gratuitous Lucy fanservice, so, yay! And yeah, I had forgotten the little guy's powers… Makes sense. What doesn't is Erza's comeback but, heh, Erza.

Still, he WAS the titan. And not like Erza did jack to Acknologia either.

But they have exactly as much in setting justification for strength: just because some people are OP.

Erza hasn't pulled a friendship speech and go against Acno by herself. You know she'd win if that happen because she's Erza.

The entire Kyouka fight ruined any credibility she had as a character and trying to justify her being OP only makes it worse.

And we all know the Spriggan Twelve are only going to be hyped just to get taken down in mostly lackluster fights. Just like Natsu took down a god in one hit.

this chapter sucks. lucy doesn't even fight in the nude. why call it battle of naked while they spend most of the time talking it? and seriously battle of naked sounds like rather engrish.

Joking aside, this chapter is while straightforward, it's rather lackluster. Natsu just beat two of the members if I remember correctly.

And Erza sudden can re-equip and wins to nobody surprise.

Basically, the problem isn't that Erza is OP, it's that she's OP in an unsatisfying and badly written way. Your attempts to justify it don't really make it seem any better.

Gildarts has Story-Breaker Power so he's Commuting on a Bus.

That's what irks me about Gildartz. Mashima made him so powerful that Mashima can't put him in a situation where he'd lose. When Fairy Trail is facing a serious threat, he's nowhere to be found.

Episode 255:

• I liked Torafuzar at first, but after transforming, my interest in him slipped. Because he spent most of the battle getting beat up. Badly. Like what was the point in him transforming if he was gonna get creamed a lot more than when he was in base form?
• A reminder that the Magic Council isn't all bad. Felt sorry for Gajeel there. Of course, I hate the Magic Council as a group, but if individually's a different story depending on the person in question.
• Laxus' giving his all. But Tempester isn't slouching around either. Good!

I like the shanking attempt by Lucy, but most everything else...

It looks like Big Match Erza has overcomed the odds and won it all again, but I suspect that since Nakama pants weren't involved it wasn't enough.
