Because nothing suggests he's acting differently in a dream compared to how he would normally act, he in fact needs to keep reminding himself that this is a dream and act accordingly
It's been ages since I last played it so excuse me for forgetting some details.
Life is more fun with infinite MP.I thought him not taking it seriously because it was a dream was why he was acting so weird and what ultimately caused him fail.
I'm pretty sure that he failed due to Xehanort educed traps and Mind Rape
110120: True, but all those Fix Fics that bring them back to life are equally real
she her hers hOI!!! i'm tempeI mean, he wasn't taking it seriously to begin with because he literally didn't care and was only taking the stupid test to cheer up Riku.
This is Established pretty early on.
He doesn't need some dumb test for validation.
The Mark of Mastery Exam was not a thing Sora gave any shits about at all to begin with.

The test does seem like a weird formality. Sora already saved the worlds twice. What does passing the test do? It's not like Keyblade Master is a title recognized by anyone outside of the group.
Sora literally says that in 3D.
He literally only goes along with it to cheer up Riku.
I mean, hell, Mickey, Donald and Goofy are all surprised when Yen Sid says that they need to start from scratch and take the exam. So the ancient-ass retiree is the only one pressing the issue.
And Riku's self-confidence.

I know Sora feels that way. I'm wondering why Mickey and Yen Sid care. It's not like being a Keyblade Master makes Sora more powerful.
I'm not even sure Mickey does.
When Yen Sid announces that he's holding the exam and that Sora and Riku need to start with a clean slate, Mickey is surprised.
Bear in mind that apparently, Eraqus wasn't going to have an Exam until Xehanort sent a letter and told him about Terra's darkness. Apparently, he was just going to make Terra and Aqua both Masters without an exam.
I mean, if Yen Sid's "no longer a master" and "doffed that mantle" I personally think he needs to start fucking acting like it and stop telling everybody what to do.

x5 Which kind of bothers me in itself, I mean back when Phil told him he ain't a hero that had him livid, when Nala said they need a male lion to be king he was all for throwing himself in for the title. Sora likes titles and he likes competing.
At least he did anyway
But neither of those are tests.
The Mark of Mastery exam isn't a competition. "Both of you may prevail, or neither"

Is it possible for a character to be phoning in a performance?
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.I'm fairly sure Sora had to go through a few of Phil's tests to earn the title of "Junior Hero"

Junior hero didn't satisfy him (or donald) at all though.
He wasn't satisfied until he got a constellation.
Exactly why I found the whole Sora doesn't care about the mark of mastery or title of master so strange.
Blame Roxas within him.
My current theory is that (birth by sleep spoilers) Vanitas is slowly waking up and will probably try and possess Sora, for now he's manifesting through Sora's shadow form, that may change come Kingdom hearts 3

New theme music also a boxokay so !!! i finally have three thousand gems to use.
what should i do with them? should i spend them all @ the epic medal carnival thing?
GO AHEAD .... MR. JOEHSTUR .......Retries if you die in a mission, full special gauge meters, and new medals.
edit: What's the maximum cost you can have for a keyblade? I calculated it out and it looks like if you have five 6 star medals with -10 bonuses you'd need a limit of 180. Is that actually attainable?

Offhand I believe that the max cost if you're at the level cap and buy all the jewel boards is 183. That might be for JPUX, though.
I normally wouldn't recommend the Epic Medal Carnival to F2P players, but the current one promises both an Epic medal and an Org. XIII medal, so for the moment, yes.

she her hers hOI!!! i'm tempeYou can but it's also possible to get jewels without spending money. You just have to be more careful about how you spend them.
i got some not-so-bad medals out of this, sorta ???
but now i'm genuinely tempted to buys some jewels, but i'm not sure if it's a really bad idea to buy the 3k for $15 deal, if only because the deal it has to unlock all of the 'special' quests. if i buy them now, will the 'vip' quests expire next sunday, or will they last until today ( which is sunday ) ends at 12 am ??
GO AHEAD .... MR. JOEHSTUR .......
How is it a Hand Wave? I'm in no way brushing aside the discussion but trying to put forward a reason for his change in personality. Psychology isn't exactly a hard science like physics, there's a lot of interpretation.
