Let's see if I can take these in turn:

• Why did they try to kill Roxas instead of just keeping him happy in their group? - Because he was gaining Sora's memories and they had Xion as a back-up.
• Why did they try to prevent him from awakening Sora after be rebelled and left them? - They were going to try to recapture him and force him to work for them and if Sora were to wake up, he would probably off some of them (and he did).
• What was Saix's plan for rebellion and why was he planning one? - I think he thought he and Axel were strong enough together to take Xemnas and the rest wouldn't care. He was probably planning one because I think that he figured out that Xemnas doesn't really care about them.
• Why did Marluxia want to turn against Xemnas? - See last question. Alternatively, Xemnas forces people into the Organization and he doesn't like that.
• Why don't they ever pair up to kill Sora? - Because Xemnas doesn't do grunt work/doesn't give a crap what anyone else does because he can just get more Nobodies.
• Why is the final helping to Kingdom Hearts that Saix summons made up of Purebloods instead of Emblem Heartless? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

That video was incredible. I've seen cool stuff like fighting against the Lingering Will with Cloud and Leon but that was a whole other level. I've nver fought him because I don't have the Final Mix but still. Incredible.

Remember that Saïx and Axel were fully on board with ingratiating themselves into the higher ranks of the Organization in order to take it over (presumably they got a notion that Xemnas didn't have their best interests in mind), but then Saïx got a bit too cozy with the X-man and the rest is bloody history.

Incidentally, I like the headcanon that Axel's job was the Organization's assassin.

Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.

It seemed reasonably canon in the games themselves. Assassin was even the name of his own cadre of Elite Mooks.

How exactly did Saïx get Norted? Xemnas didn't have his heart on him for 10 years.

There was a post once where the poster called Sora a 'robot' in DDD in comparison to his earlier incarnations. Sora isn't really 'robotic' but he does come up as being somewhagt emotionless until the final part of the game. I do think that Sora needs some consistent character development or at least care about the events of the game as he does seem emotionless to me. Does Sora need a consistent personality?

finally started replaying 358/2 days while i can't play re:com

the beginning of this game is pretty boring

I'd say most of the game is boring, honestly.

Anyway, in regards to Sora, I feel like he became really all over the place character-wise ever since KHII.

Days is better if you go in with the mindset that it's just a low key narrative about a guy and his best friends hanging out.

The investigate agrabah part was the worst. I must have missed directions or something, but I couldn't advance that part without a guide.
